Subject: halo's biggest problem

I love the way it is! Shields = balanced gameplay.

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

Halo's biggest problem has been, and always will be, the people in matchmaking.
you are a great man.....or woman?
anyway, yes, the people in matchmaking are and will always be the problem.

Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

We've had big battles before. Anyone remember the last part of Two Betrayals on Halo CE? Or perhaps the last part of Gravemind on Halo 2? Halo 3 was the only game lacking a big battle like that. And don't say the last few levels of countless Flood, that doesn't count as they're easy to kill.

Sheilds of course.

sheilds make you a big badass

every post ive been at is asking for a emence action packed battlefield.

well given halos health system its impossible.

halos health system only allows you to fight small petrols of enemies at a time.

rush, retreat, reload, reposition, repeat.

halo's five "R" rules

thats why we cant have big battlefields that feel like a battlefield and act like a battlefield.

feel free to argee/argue

That doesn't make any sense. Halo's health system is actually one of the reasons it should have bigger battlefields because it would allow for easier survival against multiple enemies.

Meh, the battles in Gravemind weren't that big. I remember only counting a couple dozen enemies in comparison to the 20s and even 30s in Halo 1. Unless you are counting drone areas.

Not starting the whole "CoD vs Halo" thing, but I reckon you die way too easily in Call of Duty. Shields have always been around for Halo. Leave things be. Besides, we will most likely be Spartans so...

  • 11.13.2009 2:03 AM PDT

In halo there are weapons wich are good vs shields and weapons wich are good vs normal health. Without the shields this difference would not exist. So I think shields make more difference between all the weapons.

  • 11.13.2009 2:15 AM PDT

i would like the health system from halo ce brought back

  • 11.13.2009 6:49 AM PDT

shields r awsum, nuf said

  • 11.13.2009 2:28 PM PDT

Aye.

That's great, OP, name a problem, have a stab at the source of the problem and then give no suggestions on how to "fix" the health system.

I think you're alluding to COD's health system, too.

Dire spelling and grammar, too; if you're gonna troll, do it with class.

  • 11.13.2009 2:35 PM PDT

So what you're saying is, take away our shielding and make us directly vulnerable to bodily injury from enemy fire and then we can take on hundreds of enemies at once?

You logic is impenetrable.

My sentiments exactly.

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

..Ive had big and epic battles..the only thing that keeps big and epic battles from happening is slow respons..you have faster respawns thats more enemys and allies on the field.

Faster respawns = less strategy because the newbies will just rush in with their ARs, and having 5 ARs on you at the same time = death. It would kill objective gametypes (you can now have people rushing the obj without thinking) and render the tatic of "Kill all enemies before moving flag/planting bomb etc" useless. So I think respawns should be made slower instead of faster.

funny quote.

  • 11.13.2009 4:18 PM PDT

ok i reread my post and every post on this thread and i figured out that i wasnt making my point clear enough.

1.)No I do not want to get rid of shields.
2.)No I do not want Halo to become Call of Halo
3.)If CoD had the health system I was comfortable with why would I be here???
4.)I'm not a troll. If you looked at my earlier post you would see why my typing is so off, and I'm simply stating my opinion not what should and should not be implemented for Reach.
5.)I don't like the shields due to the fact that they have become our health bar.
6.)I want the shields to be what they are shields NOT HEALTH.
7.)Maybe increase the amount of damage you can take after your sheilds are down.
8.)Just so you don't become as useless as a marine when your sheilds go down.
9.)Spartans do have armour under their sheilds so why do we take damage like we're wearing bathing suits?

I'm Filipino!

shields r wat make halo the game it is

  • 11.13.2009 4:49 PM PDT

Did I not just say I don't want to get rid of sheilds??????

  • 11.13.2009 4:50 PM PDT

I know what you mean OP. To make it clear for everyone, Im pretty sure he wants to have shields like we normally have, plus actual health like in ODST so as soon as our shields are down we wont die right off. So its kinda like a recharging overshield. And when youre health goes down, it doesnt go back up but your shields still do.

  • 11.13.2009 5:18 PM PDT

So you just want halo one style health? if so, you should retype your op to make that clear. There is a good chance it will be like that due to mark v armor form halo 1.
but I do not agree with the "five R's of Halo"

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

You got it all wrong OP, the reasoning behind not having huge battles is processing resources.

Halo has huge environments with lots of objects and characters who have very complex AI.

  • 11.13.2009 5:36 PM PDT

I'm talking for campaign. Not multiplayer. Yes, I'm well aware of the cappabilities of xbox's software. (sorry for the horrible spelling) And no, I do not run in shooting and screaming. I try to legnthen the battles in campaign for a more war like effect. But I find myself always without sheild and running away like I've seen thousands do before. Wait....*shields recharge*.... Bip Bap Bam!....*runs away with no shields*.....*recharge and repeat* I know multiplayer is not like that but campaign is.
