I DON'T HATE THE PC. I JUST DON'T THINK THAT I SHOULD COME OUT FOR IT BECAUSE HALO2 BELONGS ON THE X-BOX. O.K?! JUST WAIT MAYBE 6 MONTHS AFTER HALO2 COMES OUT THEN YOU'LL GET YOUR HALO2 FOR PC.

They should make it for PC... but they never will, because XBox has to take all the glory for a game that was origianlly suposed to come out for Mac. Most of bungie's games are PC anyways, so there could be a small chance it will come out, but you'll need a really good Video Card! and update to play it without problems.

ya sure i think it would be cool to have Halo 2 on pc/mac but how could you do it? the graphics on Halo already push 90% of most pcs/macs to the limit. Halo 2 is supposed to have -BLAMIN- better graphics. if they do put it on pc/mac i hope they have a way to degrade the graphics but that would take away part of what is goinig to make Halo 2 the to-be best game ever.

Doom 3 had to be downgraded for the Xbox if you didn't read up on the Xbox version of Doom 3. So if D3 had to be downgraded on the Xbox just to use all the 100% power of the Xbox graphic, CPU and harddrive, I think Halo 2 needs to be push up to 100% to be use on the PC.

I think Ekul1021
and I are the only ones who get the point of this forum, its not do we want Halo 2 for pc its do we think that its going to.

PC's can be upgraded, Xbox's Can't. By the time the next xboxs come out they'll out match most of the pc's out there in graphics, for about six months, until the new line of graphics cards come out. Personnaly if halo 2 does come out for pc i hope they dont go through gearbox, because, in my opinion gearbox is terrible in delivering good graphics without astronomicly high, requirements.

Please exuse my spelling

I think that it would be profitable for Bungie and Microsoft to make it possible for computer users to play- the gaming industry recognizes the fact that not everyone is willing to dole out cash just to get one system to buy one game. Not everyone like the console controllers as well.
Plus, I think that Bungie would never be so heartless as to limit the game to one system. However, it'll be a while before it probably is translated for Macs or PCs after Nov. 9th.

I own a top of the line PC (for those that know computer-ese :amd 64bit 3200,1gig of matched registered RAM, geforceFX 5950ultra, audigyZS platinum pro). Now i dont own a xbox, the box filled with years of console's collecting in my closet reminds me of why i dont own one (mostly they get outdated in about 4-5 years) . They PC i built 4 years ago (amd 850athlon, 512mb ram, geforcefx 5600) still runs halo smoothly on the lower resolution settings. My new PC makes halo look absolutly FABULOUS (i have a 30 inch LCD HDTV for a monitor). A friend of mine brought over his xbox and copy of halo, we hooked it up to my HDTV and played coop till we beat the game. I have to say that in one way halo for xbox is a better game (co-op play in single player games), but still i beleive that the higher resolution and the customizable game controls, and the 16 person multiplayer games make Halo PC over the top for me as the better choice of gaming platforms. if u have a limited budget (or your parents are buying u everything still) and cant afford a killer PC rig like me. then halo for Xbox is the better choice. In conclusion I believe that Halo2 should have simutaneous releases. that way everyone is happy. Microsoft also sells a little program called Windows (which costs as much as a new xbox), and anyone that wants to use halo (that owns a PC not a Mac) is going to have to buy or own this program, in that thinking i believe that mircosoft owes the PC gamer as much as the Xbox gamer as far as customer appreciation factors exist. therfore they should make co-op play for halo1 and the PC version of Halo2 available soon after if not at the same time the Xbox version is released.

Halo was meant for Mac, moved to Xbox, then came out for PC and MAC 2 years later. So maybe the same will happen with Halo2. But I still said no.

One of the things that happened with halo pc was that there was a load of new stuff for multiplayer (banshees, new maps).
Since that Halo 2 is going to be on Xbox Live new content like this will be available for content download so the PC version wont have anything over the Xbox version since the new content is what made it good for me.

Bungie might get to it sooner this time, as they know that Halo 2 will be a hit- Halo was uncertain and wasn't guarenteed, but I think that Microsoft can afford to get started sooner on getting translations made for other systems.

I want halo 2 for pc. but microsoft (not bungie) has control over that. Do i expect to see it, yes. In the near future. No. Microsoft will pull the same thing they did with the first one. Wait for it.....wait for it......wait for it.....OK now!
I love bungie for halo. I love microsoft because they help me pay my bills. But I hate what they are doing with halo. If microsoft is listening.
I bought an xbox for Halo twice (long story). And I would do it again. But I dont appreciate waiting 2 1/2 years for the PC version. I know that Halo was such a great game that it continued to sell xboxes even long after halo came out. I am an avid PC gamer. I rarely get on my xbox because nothing really interests me enough to deal with the controller. Should you put out a Keyboard/Mouse ish (and i use that litely). I would probably buy more games. Right now I have Far Cry/Painkiller/Battlefield Vietnam/1942/UT 2004/Call of Duty/GTA 3 and Vice City/Serious sam and the second encounter/Jedi outcast/SOF 1 and 2/Max Payne/Return to castle wolfenstien/Quake 3/Crimson skies all for the pc. I buy my software, even though it is sometimes 50 dollars. I play alot of games. I love games. But what I lack is the patience to play with the controller on the xbox. I will buy Halo 2, I will probably order Halo 2. But if you want MY money for games then give me what I need to play them the way I like. I dont care if it only has 24 keys on it with the mouse. It doesnt have to be a full keyboard. But I wont play anything, with the exception of Halo 2, with that controller.

Sorry everyone for the longggggggggg story/behotch session.

Yes I want Halo 2 for the PC and even if i have it for my xbox I will buy it to play online.
BUT microsoft will not allow anything to steal the thunder from Halo 2/Xbox combo for at least 1-2 years.

Thanks Bungie
The people are who buy the games. This makes it a popular game to the companys because it sells. But Halo would have been great on any system. Hell I would probably had tried to buy me a Mac to play it. (ewww)

Actually, from what I recall in Bungies original letter when they got bought by Microsoft, they still retained control over how they released their games... IE, if they wanted to, it could go to any platform they wanted to. Although an unspoken assumption there is that it's always X Box first.

I wonder if that is still true.

At any rate, I seriously, seriously, hope that Halo 2 comes out for PC/Mac. I waited the years I needed to to get it on my Mac (way longer than most folks!) and it was well worth the wait... I'm simply not capable of playing a FPS without a keyboard and mouse. On top of which, outside of Halo, there isn't much I want on the X Box... never been a console person. Although I do own a Dreamcast.

Whether or not Halo 2 makes it to the platform remains to be seen, but I suspect if the demand is high enough, they won't pass on making extra cash. I don't doubt that, considering the game has to run on the same hardware the original ran on, the new requirements for PC won't be quite as astronomical as you suspect. A video card upgrade might be required. At the moment, my computer runs Halo without a hitch.

I just saw something on the internet about Microsoft looking to use their "XNA" protocal - which is a combination of DirectX and DNA - like every piece of the video game will be built with this. This will allow for both PC gamers and xbox'ers to play together. Like we would be the generals of the battle and the xbox'ers would be the grunts...lol.

XBox2, so far, has not stated that it will be backward compatible, but can you imagine if they actually did that???

Sadly for all you PC haters Halo 2 will come out for PC, its just smart. You don't have to pay for online and for the people who dont want to buy an Xbox only because of Halo2, but they wont release it for PC until it's been a 6months-1year and a half, so they give it time to sell for Xbox, etc.

What about dual-aiming though? Maybe it's not so big of a problem, but I think that the preferable solution (using right-click for regular fire, left for secondary) is still a bit strange. I have both Halo PC and Halo now, and the only reason I really play on the PC rather than XBox is because it has online play. The Xbox Live support for the 'box version will take away that advantage, and coupled with its better controls (in my opinion), I don't see too much of a reason to buy the PC version if you can purchase it for XBox. Of course, that has no effect on whether it will be made for the PC.
