For every action, there is an equal and opposite airstrike.
I think Bungie have learnt from the mistakes and issue with Halo 3. ODST improved on a lot of things;
- Assault Rifle spread, although still not what I'd like it to be, was much better. The SMG was also tightend up to the point where it acted like, or surpassed, a modern submachinegun.
- Banshees being able to hover. YES.
- Wraith mortar arc being adjusted so it actually lines up with the crosshair.
- Being able to move full-pelt with support weapons. Although as this was only to improve a camapign, I'd think a faceless super-soldier should be able to do this too. Speculation (and perhaps some another source) show that one Spartan will be using a heavy mchinegun as their preffered weapon; in the event we take control of him/ her, I'd like to be able to move properly.
- Being able to install ODST to the harddrive without issues. Not really Bungie's fault, more Microsoft's, but it was addressed regardless.
All of these show Bungie are willing to update the formula to make it work just that bit better. I'd be very suprised if they didn't add all weapons to the forge pallete, or indeed make the engine in such a way it is impossible to update.
EDIT: that being said, I'm still not allowed to have the word Assault in any media I create in Halo 3. Odd that, for a 17+ game. About as bad as the GoW2 No Blood setting. Wrong game, wrong audience.
