Subject: Reach should enable blindfire and evasive rolls

War never decides who is right; only who is left.

Wow. This super-conservatism is exactly what I thought I'd find. Halo needs to change. Maybe not so drastically as a cover system, but less emphasis on jumping ten feet in the air and maybe a sprint feature.

You have a brain. Use it, please.

Halo's system of cover would have to be radically altered in order to incorporate blindfire into it. You would have to be able to 'stick' to the walls instead of simply standing behind them. And that would just not make it Halo anymore. Let Halo be Halo. Let Gears be Gears.

That would really up the intensity and make it a better game. Maybe a third person view so you can see all the action too?

third person no
but rolling seems alot better

Golf Wang. Brony.

The Banshee can blindfire and do evasive rolls. Sorta.

yes, and it's obvious he's mocking the other gameplay threads, but still. It's the internet, if you can get away with insulting someone or their ideas you will.

Aye.

A cover system isn't really appropriate for a First Person Shooter.

(besides, what's wrong with crouching and walls, again?)

This is Halo not Perfect Dark Zero (crap game by the way).

Worst game I've ever played including all Commodore, NES, Snes, N64, GBA, PSOne, PC and Xbox games. The only story-mode I couldn't ever complete.

Rare must had spent the entire time making bots, which are the only worthwhile thing in the entire game.

True. Only time I consider playing PDZ is a game of Onslaught against bots. Most mediocre game I've played in a while, and I was even given the Hobbit game for Christmas last gen.

I don't join any group that spams me in PM so don't try it.
SPAM applies to anything that is copy and pasted, it is very obvious when you do so don't say you wrote it. Also if you argue with me on the nature of things contained in this signature, you will be blocked and never removed. If you send to me in XBox live you will be Avoided, Blocked, and a complaint will be filed for harassment.

Why don't you like blind fire?

If you are required to sit behind a wall and "blind fire" to get kills then why are you here?

Actualy, I don't find Halo gameplay 'elementary' at all compared to other developers. There are far more layered strategic elements going on in any given Halo than a game like Gears, COD, or even Rainbow Six. Most shooters are either frantic run & gun (Gears), pure specialization (Rainbow), or a mix of both (COD). Halo works with a "rock vs paper vs scissors" type of balance; it's the kind of multi-layered strategy you usualy get from a good RTS. Add to that the depth of Halo's sandbox, and it gets even harder to compare it to most other shooters.

I do agree that Gears is a great game, but it is also a much "looser" shooter. It doesn't have the level of precision in movement, aiming, or hit-detection that Halo does, and I think adding elements like you are talking about could have as many negative effects as positive ones.
