Halo can't support a class system. A demolition or close-quarters will always lose against the sniper. Even a sniper struggles to take down a sniper. Unless some means of balance were introduced to Halo, classes would never work with that title.

There probably won't be. If Bungie wanted to make a class based game, they would develop a new IP for it, it wouldn't work out well with Halo. They would need to completely rebalance all the weapons for a class based game, the campaign really wouldn't fit in well with the concept... just because you slap "Halo" in front of an idea for a game doesn't make it golden.
