Subject: Two Campaigns - Not a Covenent side but another human one

Why is it always multipayer that is the important thing with mostly everybody?? If there was no campaign in Halo and it was just multiplayer, do you think it would have gotten this far?? No, it wouldnt have.

i really do not care about the campaign. if it fun, i will play it, but i mostly want a very fun matchmaking. i would not have hatted odst that much if it had some kind of matchmaking...

It's unfourtunate how many people like this there are..

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Why would there be two Human campaigns?? I want a Covenant campaign so I can finally slaughter Marines and get points for it.

Why do you want to get points for killing marines? The good people in the story that is so important to you.

and how!

I want to play as actually corrupt Covenant, ones that want to kill the humans instead of only wanting to momentarily.

Halo 3: ODST = $30

No! No more ODSTs!

  • 11.14.2009 3:10 PM PDT

Death to rank junkies.

We've never had a real covenant campaign. It's only been killing heretics, Brutes, or flood. Now would be a great time for one.

ODST could have been amazing. It would be better to be fighting the covenent as them or fighting brutes as a rebel group of elites.

Can you believe it?

What's wrong with a Covenant campaign? I would like to finally be able to slaughter some humans with an energy sword.

Actually only the Prophets want the humans dead, because the fact that humans are somehow related to the Forerunners would shatter the Covenant's religion, placing humans in a position above the Prophets. They order the Elites and the rest of the Covenant to do their dirty work, and the reason they give to the Elites is that the humans desecrate Forerunner artifacts; apparently they seek out and destroy them purposefully, according to the Prophets. Elites view this as heresy beyond measure, and so they set out to exterminate humans.

However, there is a degree of respect for humans among Elites, such as willing to let them "die by the sword" which is an honor among Sangheili(Elite) culture. You can find more proof of Elites admiring humans in the Halo 2 Collector's edition manual, The "Conversations from the Universe" and "Halo: The Cole Protocol"

I wish I was still legendary.

I would, honestly, rather a separate Covenant campaign. Playing as an elite would allow for a deeper, more emotional story to be told, showing both sides of the battle.

The only way I could see a campaign where you kill humans is one whee the marine AI has been increased dramatically.

  • 11.14.2009 4:42 PM PDT

My guess they would have one for buck and one for master chief if they did do a two campaign?

  • 11.14.2009 5:52 PM PDT

Im all in for this :). Imagine as you board a phantom flying off to your destination doing whatever mission instead of the old pelican.

Or walking down the winding and purplish architecture off the covenant motherchip or whatever it is called "high charity" there we go. I really hope a bungie employee sees this thread as it is an awsome idea.

We are the decendents of the Forerunners. Therefore we must all die. It is all perspective.

Actually, only three members of the Covenant know that fact: Truth, Mercy, and Regret.

Every one keeps on asking for a Covenent campaign. I for one dont want that. I think that it would add a side to Halo that has never been seen before and is IMO not needed. The killing of Humans has never been in Halo before, and I hope it never is.

Instead I propose a shorter campaign where we play as ODST's. Thos would be a very short campaign (only about 4-5 hours) and would be streight forwards levels (not walking around the city at night levels).

This would add a darker side to Halo withought the killing of humans, which, I have always been agenst.

Please tell me what you think and if you think it is a good idea. Thanks!

If you played as an ODST it would be the same game twice, I think it should be a rebel because they are against the UNSC and against the Covenant

lol, that was my idea, I think it would be insane to see the war in the rebels point of view.

  • 11.14.2009 6:11 PM PDT

You have read my mind. I agree with you on some points but personally I think that playing as a Marine and witnessing your comrades being brutally Murdered by Elites might be more effective. I don't know if anyone played Call of Duty: World at War but remember that mission Vendetta when you play as the Russian soldier and you pretend to be dead while German soldiers Murdered your Comrades and you lay in a pool of blood and it was so realistic you could almost smell the blood that was good. So Bungie should make two campaigns. The Epic Campaign where you play a Spartan most likely Noble One or Sierra 259 and you go for the Classic Halo feel then the Second and more darker campaign where you see the real horror of war as a Marine and witness death, genocide and be truly disturbed.
