Subject: Two Campaigns - Not a Covenent side but another human one

in GTA you kill humans. why not Halo?

Not only that, they are also civilians. Why is everyone fussing about killing civilians in one level in MW2 when you can do that in GTA whenever you want, however you want?

Why would there be two Human campaigns?? I want a Covenant campaign so I can finally slaughter Marines and get points for it.

yeah, and i want to use that badass (secret new covie weapon that was leaked that we can't discuss).

If you played as an ODST it would be the same game twice, I think it should be a rebel because they are against the UNSC and against the CovedantI like that, UNSC Campaign/Rebel Campaign, would be awesome for cut scenes.

  • 11.14.2009 7:28 PM PDT

~

we should definitely have a proper elite campaign

Yes that would be awesome, I'm pretty sure that there was some Rebels at Reach.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Why would they have TWO campaigns from the exact same side of the story? That is retarded. A Covenant Campaign would be awesome.

  • 11.14.2009 7:37 PM PDT

Just one human campaign would be good. I've lost count of the amount of people who were dissapointed in halo 2 playing as 'the frog'. People bought halo to play as the master chief, ODST was cool too because you got to play as a hardcore marine, but playing as an alien frog took away from the immersion of the player.

I think I know what the retarded thing is here (and its not that idea)
It would show you the Battle from two different perspectives, a Spartan & a marine, You would see the pain of the marine & the power of the Spartan, Genius.

But then its the SAME STORY, that is what is retarded about it, why include all the time and effort of creating a whole separate game mechanic just to tell the same side of the same story, when you could use the SAME mechanic, and tell the opposite?

dude it wouldn't be the same story, It would have totally missions, probably set in a different place, & would probably only overlap at the end.

The WHOLE planet is being attacked, not everyone has the same story, when we play as Master Chief we don't play the same story as everyone else, now do we? your logic is flawed.

How did you get that from the original post?

Bring on the same side of a war means that your point of view in that war is the same, no matter which part of Reach you visit the underlying story will be "Covenant! Kill them! Defend Reach!"

Whereas if you switch over to the Covenant Perspective, the war completely changes, you are taking the planet for a few possible reasons, most of them religious or based around a Holy Mission. AND we get to see more of the Covenant, which let's face it, we still don't know NEARLY enough about. (Flawed or not, the Halo Encyclopedia only dedicated around 50 pages to the Covenant, 10 to the Flood, and 40 to the Forerunner, leaving around 200+pages ALL UNSC.)

Ok, now I understand what you mean, & I can not say much more about this without just saying what I have just stated before, or turning it into a argument about which is better.

But It wouldn't be the same story, & it wouldn't have the same feel to it, Being a Marine & being a Spartan would be a lot different when being in a war.
Although I would love a Covenant, you still cannot call this idea retarded.

Would be amazing playing a mini-campaign of the Covenant Elite betrayal, perhaps the silver ship masters story?

Like ODST, but make it an Elite firefight holding off waves of covenant forces that are trying to eliminate any opposition for their "great journey".

Would be a nice change and machinema would <3 it.

why ODST's there is already Halo 3 ODST
Posted by: JFKES
Every one keeps on asking for a Covenent campaign. I for one dont want that. I think that it would add a side to Halo that has never been seen before and is IMO not needed. The killing of Humans has never been in Halo before, and I hope it never is.

Instead I propose a shorter campaign where we play as ODST's. Thos would be a very short campaign (only about 4-5 hours) and would be streight forwards levels (not walking around the city at night levels).

This would add a darker side to Halo withought the killing of humans, which, I have always been agenst.

Please tell me what you think and if you think it is a good idea. Thanks!

Up with covenant story. shoot up marines

  • 11.14.2009 9:24 PM PDT

In order for there to be a covenant campaign where you fight humans, the marines and ODSTs have to be broken up into different classes and enemy types in order for the campaign to be interesting, so you'll need
Rifleman, Heavy weapons, Sniper etc, each with there own art style and all that which will be cool. Give the marines a real fleshed out feel to them

But I personaly would like to see an unlockable marine mini-campaign that you get after completing campaign on legendary or getting some achievment. It would be harder and more challenging since you dont get any of the Spartan or even ODST abilities. Plus UNSC Marines kick arse

No it wouldn't be. Halo 3: ODST is set during Halo 2. Are they both the same story? No. Please use your brains.

Bacon

Uh.. I want to see the covenant killing humans, they are evil!
But we don't need a covenant side campaign to see that.

  • 11.15.2009 2:59 AM PDT

Its a trap!!!

What's wrong with a Covenant campaign? I would like to finally be able to slaughter some humans with an energy sword.

Because I want it to feel like Halo CE again and fight some dangerous Zealot Elites

I also want to fight the ones who would point and go "wort wort wort"
I want to go against large fast powerful hunters. Be pinned down by jackal snipers and trying to shoot the jackal in a weakpoint to throw his shield up.

Grunts and marines can both be funny. But come on those guys are the best to kill

If we fight humans it would be borring. We would have marine, a marine in a ODST suit. A larger marine in a Mjolnir Armor.

Well I didnt mean to belittle my favorite character, Spartans. But humans don't have enough variety to make it truly fun

Elites were my favorite enemy until they decided to not make them enemies and balance them for multiplayer. Now I make fun of them and call them dinosaurs. Back in halo CE they were awe inspiring

In Halo CE and in Halo 2, I would leap down and begin to move towards an elite, he would turn and rise to face me. Be that drawing this sword or just begining to shoot. They were really fun as they were worthy oponents.
