Subject: Have YOU had your Red Rings yet?

Can the Elite get RRoD? Because all of my friends who have the Premium have gotten it, but the four others who have the Elite, including myself, have not.

Hmm...
yes it can. i have the elite and i got it. it might be less likely but it can still happen. also, newer 360's have fixed the fault, so they don't mess up.

also to anyone who says they had the rings, but they went away when they rebooted the console/ only pop up every now and then, GET YOUR 360 CHECKED OR SHIPPED OFF FOR REPAIRS IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!! mine came on, went away, came back, and went away again for a while before it finally reached the point where they stayed on. trust me, shipping it off 2 weeks as a preemptive strike is much better than waiting, having them come on permanently, wasting a week seeing if they will go away again, and then having to wait 2 more weeks when you finally ship it off. so the choice is yours: wait 2 weeks, never experience the problem again, OR deal with the problem several times until it becomes permanent, then waiting the 2 weeks to have it fixed, wasting at least a whole month of playing time.

ya, gotta know who you are...

mine went down the day after ODST came out.

That makes 3 in my household to fail, I do not want to buy another.

I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

My Xbox has the Open Tray problem, but not the Red Rings yet.

Today a young man on acid realized that we are merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are one conciousness experiencing its self subjectively. Life is but a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.
Here's Tom with the weather...

It's not a "War On Drugs", it's a war on personal freedom.

Got my Red Wings about 8 or 9 years ago. She said it was an accident but, whatever. At least I got mine outta the way already and don't have to worry about it now...

Ummm, wait what? How does getting it once stop you from getting it again? It's like looking at some statistics that say, "on average each person will get mugged atleast once in their lifetime".

If you are walking on the streets at 1 in the morning in the bad part of town you are going to get mugged more then other people.

Poor analogy is poor, I know. But what I am trying to say is it doesn't matter if you have had red-ring before, if you treat your Xbox poorly you will get red-ring again.

If you have had red-ring, you have probably treated your Xbox poorly.

I had a launch 360 and it lasted until a few months back. already fixed.

I wish I was still legendary.

Twice, but I has a worse problem now:

My 360 can't read Halo discs, and I don't think MS New Zealand has been told about the special fix available for it (in the ODST forums).

and how!

I had to send it in once for 3 Red Quadrants, and once for a broken Disc Drive.

The Red Ring of Death is not necessarily caused by abuse, it's a defect in the design. So far, I've had one red ring (two days before TU 1.2 and the one year anniversary of Halo 3), and one power brick act up.

But to blame it on the user isn't always true. A friend and his dad constructed a positive-pressure box with filtration and cooling and it STILL died on him...
