Sentinels were not on Reach, cause Dr. Halsey and a couple Spartans spent pretty much a month under the Forerunner ruins and never found one. Knowing Spartans, that means there weren't any cause the Sentinels woulda flipped one.

That's not proof that there aren't any sentinels, just evidence. There can be Sentinels on Reach, because we saw barely any of the known Forerunner facility and we don't know whether or not there are more facilities or how large the one below ONI CASTLE is.

Wow.

This has to be the most irrefutable proof of anything ever. The books don't explicitly say that there were or were not sentinels on Reach. There were Forerunner structures, which itself implies that there may be sentinels. Just because Eric Nylund didn't write out an encounter with them doesn't make them nonexistent. In my opinion, it is up to Bungie's interpretation, as putting them in would not go against canon.

Yes and as far as we know there are no Sentinels. Bungie could add them into Reach. It's not a stretch to think they could and might.

I doubt the Sentinel Beam would remain out of Matchmaking though.
