Bungie should make it so you can use the jackal shield in multiplayer, but only use it with a secondary weapon. This way, you will have good defense, but it will also be harder to kill people. You should also be able to melee people with your shield, and stun them (sort of like when 2 swords clash in halo 3, but only one person is getting stunned) I think this would balance duals and regular weapons in multiplayer perfectly. It will also make it so people actually use dual wieldables.

A Jackals Sheild is attatched to its arm, like a Hunters Gun.

But it can be taken off.

They were used by the Spartans in one of the Halo novels.

No, the Jackal wears a bracelet to keep it attached.

Anyway, I want the Jackal shield to be like the brilliant Modern Warfare 2 riot shield, although with minor tweaks. For example, we would be able to shoot whilst wielding it and move just as easily as we do without it, but after being shot for a long enough time it should dissipate until a certain amount of time. Meleeing someone with it should be a two hit kill; it's essentially channeled plasma, it would hurt to touch.

Stop copying MW2... you just described the riot shield.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

Stacka.

No it's not... A Hunters cannon cannot be removed, a Jackal energy gauntlet can...

Goldenly Phi.

I made a thread about this when this forum came out, so don't even try that.

I'm sure a Hunter's cannon can be removed, it would be terribly impractical if it couldn't.

yeah that would be the perfect way to get people to use plasma weaponry. it's kind of underpowered now but if you had to use it to disable the jackal shield, you'd always have it on hand.

have you even played mw2? i'm guessing not because other than the fact that it's a shield it's nothing like it.

If you are ble to use the sheild, how would you hold it??

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

It should be a dual wieldable weapon, that it takes 1 hand to use and can be by itself (for grenades) and bashing or with another dual wieldable weapon (mauler, SMG, Plasma Rifle, etc...)for shootin and bashing.

It would have a battery, and an overheat meter.
Each point of damage taken by the shield reduces the battery, and adds a little to the overheat meter.

The shield can be overwhelmed by constant fire, and will shut down when the meter fills until it cools. So weapons like a Machine Gun and SMG would be better against the shield portion than a BR or a Sniper Rifle.

When you hit someone with it as a melee attack, it deals some damage, and reduces the battery a small portion (lets say 5%).

It should be able to be dual wielded. You would carry it around normally and it would move with your arm, but if you hit R then your bring it up in front of you. As it takes hits it's ammo counter falls. The energy will eventually fill back up if it isn't hit. If you have a jackal shield and say... a Plasma Pistol then you can use both as dual wielding. But only dual wield weapons though.

It would make duel wielding more viable. Diminished vision, but add protection. Stop being a big baby if mw2 has a riot shield, this still a good idea.

I'm one with the warrior inside. The evidence can't be denied. The entire world will stare. Into this battlefield tonight. As I stand before you with a warrior's heart now. I can feel the strength that will Ensure my victory this time

So basicly, it would be like the Gears of War 2 Boomshield?
