Since we're playing the battle of Reach I was thinking wouldn't it be cool if we could actualy fight for control Reach in matchmaking? Someone actualy talked about something similar to this a while back, but I forgot who it was. So okay this is how it would work.
Factions
When you first play matchmaking you would choose a side from either UNSC, or Covenant. If you choose UNSC then you're a Spartan, and if you choose the covenant you're a Elite. So this means with this matchmaking style it would always be UNSC vs Covenant. When choosing a side the game would ask you a few times if you're sure about choosing that side because once you choose a side you can only switch sides once a faction gains controll of all the territories and the next battle for Reach starts.
Territories
When you enter matchmaking you will find yourself hovering over the Planet Reach, and you would see that it is devided into reigons. Each faction starts off with an equal number of controlled territories which they will fight for controll of along with neutral territories. UNSC controlled territories are red, Covenant's are purple, and neutral territories are white. Factions gain control of territories by controlling atleast 60% of the maps in that territory. And to gain controll of maps a faction must win 51% of the matches played on that map within the time period of 36 hours. When playing in a faction controlled territory the faction that controlls it will recieve two advatages when playing in that territory. Those advantages are that for all matches they play in that territory they will have one extra player on their team and they respawn a little faster. If a faction gains controll of all territories then every player within that faction will automaticaly recieve 50exp and be upped by one rank.
Matchmaking
To start the matchmaking process you would choose a territory and then choose a map within that territory to play in. Each territory has set maps within it. Once you choose a map and territory the matchmaking process would start and once you find a match the parties could vetoe gametypes.
Okay so what do you think? Please feel free to add to these ideas.
