Halo: Heretic or Hero---An Elite's Story
Choose your own destiny

Forged in the Flames of Passion, go forth and represent!

NOTE: This is not part of the story, it is more like a Prologue to the first cutscene.

HOW COOL would it be, if the opening cutscene started off, completely black screen, with Dr. Halsey's voice reciting her line from the Fall of Reach when she first meets John.

In order to test him, Dr. Halsey plays a game with him in which she flips a quarter and John has to say which side it will land on before the quarter lands in his palm.

So, imagine her saying (and I forget the exact transcript) 'I'm going to flip this quarter...and all you have to do is tell me which side it will land on before you catch it'

A few moments later, the black screen fades away and the camera follows the quarter as it propells upward. Just as it is about to land in John's palm (you don't see his face, of course, only his hand) he yells 'Eagle!'

The moment the quarter strikes his palm and the eagle shimmers, the screen immediately changes to show the Spartans in training, giving a brief overview of their history for fans of the series that don't know their true origins. It could even show a few small fight scenes, showing their unmatched combat prowess.

Good idea or not?

Discuss.

You have no rights, play nice.

Well, i admit, that would be pretty cool, because it could lead to some insight on Reach, how the spartans were made, etc. And obviously, they could expand on this. Such as, make them semi playable. Like, in combat training, they could test your aim controls, and maybe, if they have melee combat, melee controls.

Enough with the messages,
I don't want to join your stupid groups.

Interesting idea, however, I doubt most people would even know what is going on.
Most Halo players don't read the books.
Some people wouldn't even know it was John who caught the coin.

Names. Incorporate names and have some narrative. Narrative never hurts.

Lol, by the guy who does the 'Double Kill--Triple Kill!' narrating?

That'd make the game a bit too comical, I guess. lol.
