I made this using the scenery on Heretic for the two moons and the background for Reach's "Projects" page. The background was created by messing around with the Photoshop brushes.

The quote is from The Fall of Reach. Dr. Halsey wanted to see if John could predict which side of the coin would facing up, either the "man" or the "eagle with the arrows". He guessed correctly: the eagle. The coin itself is Reach, the man is humanity, and the eagle is the Covenant; the eagle facing up symbolises the Covenant's victory at Reach.

I hope you like it. Constructive criticism is appreciated.

I like it. The background is a bit fuzzy though.

The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

I set it as my desktop so I could have some idea what it would be like. I think it works quite well, I don't think the slight fuzziness is a bad thing at all and I like the colours very much. I'm not completely sure about the text, it might be the font, or the colour, or the size? Something just doesn't seem right.

Overall, it is good enough for me to have kept it as my desktop and not to want to wipe it from my hard drive in a hurry (which is actually pretty complimentary), nice job ;-)

The fuzziness was done deliberately. I wanted to focus the attention on the planet and its moons. Thanks for the comments.

I must agree that I think the text needs a little fixing, although I can't really put my finger on what though (position, coloring, size, font, etc).

And the background seems to be of a lower quality that the planet, and doesn't really fit with the orange lighting.

But, this is a really nice image, and I think you have a great concept, just need some spit and polish.
