Subject: Is Bungie gonna actually make good MP maps this time?

IMO and stated by many others, Bungie outdid themselves with Halo 3. Essentially Halo 2 and H1 had such amazing maps that H3's maps ended up as garbage.

Honestly did people think those maps through.

Pit was cool and Guardian was ok but High Ground? Isolation? Sandtrap?

These maps are all fail. Like who in the design department at Bungie said, OK we'll put an Overshield on High Ground right next to the water for no reason.

Hopefully, Reach can bring back some of that Halo multiplayer map charm and not make us have to pay money before the maps get good.

Sandbox was/ is the best map ever due to the fact that you can make a brand new map on it with forge. And Sandtrap was great too.

The overshield is for the team that spawns there.

Anyways, the "These maps fail" part is an oppinion. I, for one, enjoy these maps, and, IMO, I think that they are good.

You know that "outdid" means went beyond expectations in terms of awesomeness (in this context at least), right?

I actually think that Halo 3 had great MP maps.
But as with all games there are always some bad ones.

High Ground and Sandtrap are both good maps. Guardian and The Pit suck, though.

Making maps more like Infinity, Gephrophobia, Containment, District, and uplift would be great.

Correction: The maps sucked for you, I like a good number of the halo 3 maps, as well as halo 1 and 2 maps. The ones I don't like are snowbound, and isolation(The flood map).

Bungie have made quite a few great maps, just there are also quite a few fail maps. If they just remake the good ones in a map pack and ship Halo Reach with 15 compleatly new maps then that would be epic.

There are a few maps in Halo 3 I enjoyed. I like Valhalla, Sandtrap would be better without Lasers all over the place and I guess that Longshore is okay. For the most part though, Halo 2 had the best maps, IMO.

pit and guardian are 2 of my least favorite maps, high ground is good, sand trap just needs to be played on big team, although I'm pretty sure 90 percent of people hate isolation 90 percent of the time. no matter how much you hate a map, with the right variant and the right people, its good, like that time i liked isolation,
i normally hate it but the people were smart and it was the right variant(some sort of infection and we all camped up on that building thing fending zombies off with our shotguns), what im trying to say is, all maps are good sometimes.

also, the first 2 sentences were opposites of each other, i dont think you know what "outdid themselves" means

valhalla is my personal favourite but i would prefer more forging options for it on reach(if it goes to reach)

i personally like all the maps but i got sick of guardian on lone wolves with all those no skill turbo uses that map was literally a race to the power weapons so it needs to go

agreed!,the only thing i didnt like about high ground is that forge was boring on it. I think Bungie should update all the maps when they get new forge so the old maps get them to, so their not as boring on forge.

Mods really need to get a dunce cap over here for this guy. While I agree Sandbox and Foundry were failures compared to what a competent designer could have done they were still better than all but 3-4 of the other maps do to the creativity people could express.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

The Overshield is near the water so you can push up to the base with it. You make it sound like you grab the Overshield and then snipes and then sit on the beach making your overshield obsolete.

I love pretty much all Halo maps in one way or another. Ten bucks says Blood Gulch is coming back in Reach.
