Many people dont want equipment in Halo reach (have to say, im not one of them)

but if we remove equipment, what shall the x button be used for? a replacement function? perhaps a roll or some acrobatic manouver to make spartans more like the ones in halo wars?

share your thoughts and opinions, im all ears.

I'd love rolling. I never liked how enemies and allies in the Halo games can climb on top of stuff and roll out of the way of things, and it'd be great to be able to do that. And Reach would probably need some acrobatic stuff, because previously in the Halo games, if you came up to someone 1 on 1, you just hold the AR trigger down and melee them or shoot them repeatedly with the BR and jump around.

Halo needs to add more dimensions to the combat.

it would make the whole thing more dynamic as well. How fun would it be to dodge a noob, roll behind him and hit him in the back?

You would need variety in the missions for that to be useful =/

sprint or roll button would be so awesome. it would make it so much nore realilistic. I would also love a grab ledge button. its so annoying when your two inches away from the ledge but you cant make it.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I see no problem with equipment. It wouldn't be official canon but it really is not difficult to fix canon in any video game. Even though Halo has a HUGE universe, it can still be played with.

I hope that if equipment is not included it's not because of canon. If something is removed, give a gameplay reason for it. It IS a game after all.

hope not ...

that would be awsome and maybe if you click it in the air your character dies a flip (has no added bonuses, it just looks pro)

That or some other sort of VISR, maybe a less advanced version. I don't mind whether or not there's equipment though.

this is one the best Reach ideas ever, I really hated how on halo 3 how when you were being shot by a BR you were almost helpless, or if someone shot a rocket at, you 9 out 10 times you were screwed, I think this would spice up multiplayer a bunch

i dont like the idea of a visr. odst stuff is odst stuff.

I hope equipment gets taken out of the game. All it does is slow down gameplay. I hope Reach plays more like Halo 2 rather than Halo 3.

Edit: X button should be unused in multiplayer, Visor mode in campaign.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Vision mode.

  • 11.15.2009 1:33 PM PDT

i think that the x button should be the action button.
as you can see in the reach wallpaper spartans have different gadgets and stuff like in odst.when you press the x button you would activate your equipment like a VISOR or binoculars etc...

anyways, id really love to roll or climb or sprint or charge a really hight jump, use a jetpack!
:D
