These are really just concepts so feel free to change things around in them. Like maybe the plasma shock effect is always there, or plasma weapons do more damage and move fast with great accuracy.

#1) Plasma Does More Damage
This is the first option to solve the issue of plasma vs other weapons. That's to simply make plasma weapons stronger. Plasma weapons would be stronger than most other weapons, but the shots could move slower and maybe be a little less accurate.

#2) Plasma Burning
Since we're talking about electrically charged superheated plasma here then it would make since for plasma weapons to do extended damage by burning. When firing on an enemy with a plasma weapon the plasma will continue to burn the enemy doing extended damage for a limited time even when firing stops.

#3) Plasma Shock
This another concept for plasma doing extended damage after firing has ceased. When firing a plasma weapon it will start to build up a electric charge. When the charge reaches the maximum it will start to shock enemies when fired on doing extended damage even when firing stops for a limited time, and when not firing the charged plasma weapon will slowly deplete its charge. When the charge reaches 0 then the plasma shock effect will stop.

The ideas above are just concepts. When you vote for them you're not really voting for them exactly as they are. You're free to change things around in them.

I love my pancakes [:

i like 1 and 2 not so shure bout 3 though, but make it so the burn is hardly noticeable(say 1 health bar off occasionally) but yea more powerfull they are ment to be superior after all and take down a sheild faster than an AR i meen bullets

god i hate the AR lol

Interesting concepts, in my opinion the plasma rifle in particular did not see much action in Halo 3 multiplayer. Were plasma weapons to be more effective their use could possibly increase to a balance with the UNSC weapons.

LoL, yeah you did bring up plasma burning in that other guy's topic. I didn't steal your idea though.

Light a log on fire and a man will be warm for the rest of the day. Light a man on fire, and that man will be warm for the rest of his life.

Oh man, I would love if plasma did area-effect damage. (Plasma shock)
it would do more damage near the point of impact, less outwards, and could chain between teammates. That would be so awesome! XD

Most kills in the world with the Storm rifle in halo 4, the Plasma Repeater in halo reach, and the Plasma rifle in halo 3.

i think the plasmas should become more accurate the bullets them selves should move faster (not rate of fire) take a couple less bullets to kill and stun agian

Go back to Halo CE days.

A Plasma Rifle was actually useful in those days, cus it packed some punch. The Plasma Pistol hasn't changed that much I guess.
So I guess that means option 1?

One does not simply walk into Halo.

The Plasma Pistol in Halo CE actually posed a threat. Dual wielding has reduced both of those weapons to airsoft guns.

"Eyes from Death's dream kingdom appear as sunlight on a broken column. There, in Death's other kingdom, walking alone, trembling lips form prayers to broken stone."

Make them more like how they were in Halo 1.

To play or not to play....

I like the shock idea as the plasma rifle used to shock the target a bit in Halo CE. That is if gave them a good blasting from it they were sort of paralysed for a moment. It was cool and made sense as obviously being pounded by plasma would overload any robotic armour a Spartan or Elite would wear.

I found it really made people fear plasma weapons more. Now the plasma weapons are the same as the human weapons in normal fighting. They od different types of damage etc. but the shock damage is gone. except obviously in overcharged plasma pistol rounds and even they have been reduced in homing and strength.

All I really want is a reason to use plasma weapons. Seems like they're just taking up time and space that could have been used for Bungie to develope something else.

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

I think that the plasma rifle should be a two-handed weapon like the needler is in Halo 3, and both the plasma rifle and plasma pistol should do more damage (Actually, the plasma rifle would have to be reworked to have a slower RoF I guess).

The plasma pistol needs to be more than a weapon exclusively used for the charge. It was a pretty underpowered weapon in Halo: CE's MP, and that was when it was the most powerful. The PP should do more damage per shot, should spend 0.5-1% charge per shot, and should have a longer time to charge. It should keep the EMP effect, I think that was a nice touch. It sound be useful, but not powerful. It should act more like the Halo 2 pistol when you dual-wield it.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I want more damage, and the Halo 1 hitstun when not dual wielded.

The thing I've noticed about plasma weapons is that once you take down your enemy's shield, the weapon is pretty much useless.
I think it would make more sense if it was slightly weaker against shields and way more powerful against unshielded enemies

-I was here

increase power slightly(decrease accuracy to compensate), also, put the PR stun back in.

Please Bungie, redeem yourself w/ Reach.
Halo 2 and 3 both stink out loud.
In the immortal words of Mr Horse: Halo 2? No sir, didn't like it.

How about bringing back the stun from H:CE?

I have played all the Halo games, and don't think I've ever noticed a stun effect for plasma weapons. Could you explain it?
