In every game titled "Halo" there has been a Halo ring and the Flood. I think that it might be safe to assume that there will be one in Halo Reach, however, this means that Bungie will not be keeping to the books and will in fact be creating a new story.

I have thought about this for a while and it seems that Bungie will be giving us a new story about Spartans we have never heard of before that will be on the surface of Reach and somehow end up on a Halo ring.

As much as I think this is a possibility I also think it will not happen. It would mess with all the current stories we have.

Unless...

How did the Covenant find Delta Halo?

We were lead to believe that they just stumbled onto it, but what if it was discovered after the attacks on Reach just like the first Halo?

It would be hard to make sense of this if it were supposed to be following the official cannon, but here is my idea.

The game begins and we take the role of a Spartan sent to the surface to defend the reactors powering the orbital Super MAC guns. We get seperated from the rest of the Spartans and end up in the area that does not get glassed, but we are far away from the other Spartans and have no communication with them. The Spartans end up at a UNSC facility of some kind where they find an A.I. that needs to be rescued.

After some intense fighting and running from massive Covenant forces the Spartan squad decides they need to get off of Reach before it gets glassed, and the only way to do that is to steal a Covenant ship. We steal a dropship and board a Covenant Cruiser. Not long after that, with the help of the A.I. we rescued, we take control of the ship.

Through a series of unfortunate events we end up in a random slip space jump and out of control. The ship finally exits slip space on the outskirts of an unknown solar system. When the system is scanned a massive ring is detected in orbit of a central planet. It is a Halo.

The Covenant Cruiser that follows is one of three Covenant ships the Spartans engaged in orbit of Reach and it is the only Covenant ship that was able to follow us. However, the Covenant Cruiser has taken some damage and its communications array has been destroyed so the Covenant are looking for Halo's control room so they can send out a signal to the rest of the Covenant about the Halo ring.

The cruiser the Spartans stole is badly damaged and has few weapons and limited maneuvering capability so the Spartans decide to abandone the ship as it passes the Halo and then land on the Halo and hide from the Covenant. Before they can abandone the ship the tailing Covenant cruiser exits slip space in front of them. They exchange several shots, the Covenant cruiser's main engines and slip space generator are nearly destroyed, and the Spartans cruiser is cripled. The Spartans manage to bail out before the ship is destroyed and evade the Covenant and land on the ring.

Somehow, back on Reach, we managed to save several Marines and ODSTs that came with us and now we have a nice little squad. We land on the surface and end up near the map room. The Covenant land and begin to search the ring and find the map room. We investigate, kick some butt, and find out where the control room is. We beat the Covenant there, but we cannot stay for long because the Covenant are closing in. There are several guerrilla warfare style engagements and we slowly take losses.

By the end of the game only one Spartan is left. You. You managed to get into the Covenant Cruiser and you are in the reactor room with the detonator for several C12 charges that are around you. The Covenant have sealed all exits, and you have no way out. You blow the charges and destroy the ship, but several Covenant survive on the ring and manage to send out the signal.

That is just my thought.

I think it would make for some fun, and somewhere in there they find the Flood. I forgot that part.

This would allow for an explaination of how the second Halo was discovered and it would also make for a fun story as well.

Any thoughts?

Halo:CE introduced the first Halo. It's unlikely that there will be a Halo. Maybe at the ending of the Campaign Commander Keys(old dude) decides to flee from Reach and it arrives at Halo. I dunno.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

There was no Halo ring or the Flood in ODST. There was no Halo ring in Halo Wars. Facts need to be straightened out!

Halo Wars is a Halo game, too!

To play or not to play....

No there will not be a Halo RING in Reach. The Reach storyline has nothng to do with the rings really aside from the indirect relationship of the Forerunner installation and artifact that is found.

Halo CE is about the FIRST Halo ring that was found and Reach occures BEFORE Halo CE.

Oh and there is no Halo ring in Halo 3 : ODST. So there doesn't need to be one in Halo Reach. Yes the name "Halo" is relating to the Halo network but alas in this case it is more the name of the series.

The Covenant found Delta Halo either from data they obtained fromt he first Halo ring or, more likely, from the Ark portal on Earth.

The reason i think it is more likely to be data from the Ark portal is that the Covenant only showed up at Delta Halo after coming to Earth.

Regret really annoyed Truth by rushing to Earth too early and not waiting for the main Covenant fleet to arrive (Truth's Fleet) and also by leading the humans to Delta Halo.

Oh and more than one Covenant ship followed "The Pillar of Autumn" when it blind jumped to the Halo system. Well actually it wasn't a blind jump but rather coordinates found in a Forerunner artifact that Cortan was able to work out from the data.

In fact an entire Covenant fleet followed the Pillar of Autumn to the Halo system. But yeah i get your idea for a new game type :)

So it all makes sense when you approach it logically :)

I like it except for the last part. You shouldn't be the only one left. Im getting tired of being alone and going solo. Maybe you just blow up the ring risking your lives. The spartan squad dies as a whole and together. Not seperately. Now that would be an ending. Considering if there IS a halo in reach.

I like the idea of a squad together as well but then if my idea were to work or be true then the Spartans die at the end destroying the Covenant ship and only a few Covenant on the ring survive and then send out the message that tells the rest of the Covenant where the ring is.

I doubt there will be a Halo in this game. This is just an idea I thought of that I thought might be cool and fun.

How are you gonna say Halo Wars isn't really a Halo game when it's cannon? You might aswell say Halo CE isn't a Halo game in that case...
