I never liked how we're in the year 2500 or whatever and we're still using bullets and such. We have developed pretty good space tech, and even energy shielding to some extent. I was thinking maybe in Reach we could have some experimental technology like maybe a laser cannon. Since it's experimental it could be bulky, really powerful, but maybe really inaccurate with overheating problems since it's experimental. Or maybe personal jet packs? This is basically an ideas topic.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Spartan Laser?

Yeah that was good, but how about a laser tank? I mean we're in the 2500s here. A man portable rail gun, lightning gun, etc. The Brutes have a freaking gravity hammer! I'm pretty sure humans are at least twice as intelligent as them. Maybe a gravity manipulator for the UNSC that lets to pick up and fling objects?

in halo wars they have expeirimental plasma tanks

Let's put them in then! We have lasers in 2009 so we could have developed a laser tank in 2500.

The plasma arc. An experimental UNSC plasma weapon which would replace the flame thrower. It fires a mist of electrical superheated plasma doing good initial damage and also does extended damage to the enemy even when firing has ceased. Though since it hasn't been perfected yet it's bulky and has overheating issues. Come on people where are the ideas?!

Gauss turret?

We have rail gun technology being developed right now. So 500 years later how about a guass rifle?

A rail gun is different from a MAC. A railgun uses magnetic plates, a MAC uses magnetic coils.

They have a gauss style sniper rifle used in Contact Harvest, and a sonic rifle with ONI

Oh...I have no idea what that is, but I'll look it up.

One really good possibility is a form of Active Camoflauge, as Kelly (a Spartan II) notes that she's seen ODST's experiment with Active Camo suits when she sees the Spartan III's use SPI suites, which utilize Active Camo. (Ghosts of Onyx)
