You're right. Back on topic-

The Spartan III's were created and in service by 2531. Reach was glassed in the year 2552. So technically they COULD have been there, but no mention of them there has ever been recorded.

How about the unknown ones?
They could, yes. Reach is one of the juiciest Halo universe stories. There's a lot of unexplored territory.

A spartan I is just a Spartan without armor, and there were no Spartan III's on Reach as far as we know, and I dont see what Johnson has to do with any of this.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Unlikely. Spartan Is were distributed into the regular marine corps and mixed in with regular marines. Before Harvest, which was decades before Reach.

IF there are Spartan Is, we won't recognize them (except maybe Johnson.)

the op is talking about Is not IIIs, and anyway, sgt Johnson has Sparan I armor, and probably other sgts too.

There is no Spartan I armor. The MJOLNIR armor the Spartan II's had would rip a normal person to shreds. At the time that armor was completely lacking in practicality which is exactly why the Spartan program was initiated - to make soldiers capable of superhuman tasks such as wearing superior armor.

Spartan I's are also unknown. I still don't know how people are coming to the conclusion Johnson is a Spartan I. The only recollection of such a conclusion is based on speculation entirely.

There is substantial evidence that leads us to believe Johnson is a spartan I.

Mainly a few lines from CH, as well as the HGN.

Allow me to clarify this: The SI's were initial tests with genetic enhancements, i.e mental boosters, bone ossifying agents, clotting agents and enhancing red blood cells and muscle structure. They were NOT nearly as enhanced as the SPARTAN-IIs.

The reasoning I have read is still based largely on assumption and speculation. There is a lot of evidence that points to it, but nowhere near enough to make the conclusion. Until it is hard canon we may never know, and honestly Bungie would not allude to something like that so subtly if it had no real part in the Halo universe/fiction as a whole.

Basically, what is the point of making Johnson a Spartan I? His character is not enhanced by this, his place in the Halo universe does not change. It is a needless attribute. I would be more understanding if Mendez was a Spartan I, since he seemed to understand how to train them and was involved in both Spartan projects. But Johnson's past and advancement through the UNSC does not have any real links to him being in such a huge project. He seems too... normal. Sure, he's more badass than normal but honestly that is not a qualification to be a Spartan I.

Johnson cannot be infected by the Flood because he is a SPARTAN-I. There's ties to the whole Boren's Syndrome thing being BS to cover up the SI program.

Borens Syndrome is a specific kind of disease. Unless he got exposed to a large amount of plasma radiation for an enhancement project (which makes absolutely no sense), then the S1 program is hardly a good explanation, Especially since MC can be infected by Flood and he is a Spartan II.
