Subject: Halo has gotten worse ever since CE. How will Bungie break the cycle?

Halo 2 was alright I guess. But Halo3 is just doo doo. I feel like playing it is more of an obligation, rather than just wanting to play it because it's fun. Halo CE did in fact have that warm fuzzy feeling and is to this day a great game. Bungie you had better go back to your roots...Halo CE was a good game. It didn't need map packs and recon/armor variants to keep players interested. Take notes.

Join Lucid Orange a machinima/custom gaming group!

Join Lower The Guns they are a group that wants to get the guns lowered on halo 3.

Explain why Halo CE was so good then, and why Halo 3 was so bad.

...Are you seriously saying that you would prefer a new Halo game that could not support downloadable content?

That's not the point.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6

Halo was only better because it had a much better single player. The multiplayer only seemed better because it was LAN only and playing with friends just made it seem more epic. If Halo: CE were released for the first time today(meaning none of the other halo games were ever made) with updated graphics it would epically fail.

...Love, love is a blind man's game, you have to look around to know where you are...

hmmm.....how about redo the whole halo ce saga with the same specs and no online multi and see if it actually is better.

Because memory can't always be relied on....

I didn't say to get rid of downloadable content. Please examine the post more thoroughly.

Explain why Halo CE was so good then, and why Halo 3 was so bad.

-The Campaign was actually fun. In Halo 3, it's so short. Halo: CE, there were 1 (maybe) large levels. Halo 3 had two large levels

- Brutes. Need I say more?

- The Addition of the BR. Enough Said

- Halo: CE had a more...original story that Halo 3, imo.

I didn't say to get rid of downloadable content. Please examine the post more thoroughly.

All I see is "I like Halo CE more than I like Halo 3 so Halo Reach should be more like Halo CE."

Incredibly vague.

Halo CE had huge open single player levels you could explore.

Look at the single player level in H3 called The Covenant. bungie clearly does not want you to explore as hinted by the amount if barriers preventing you from going around anywhere.

Same with Silent Cartographer. If you ever go up onto silent Cartographer and look down at the water it is amazing.

Please explain how I implied there to be no downloadable content? I basically said Halo ce did not have those aspects. BUT the game was still popular. MEANING the gameplay, story, and whatever else actually meant something to players. Today Bungie throws map packs and dangles Recon over players heads to keep us interested. Im tired of it.

That's a personal opinion, and I disagree with you because I've had fun with all of the halo's in different ways, I like some more than others but they all have added something different to the series.

Oops. I think I just lost your mind.

imo, H:CE > H3:ODST > H3 > H2
BUT...
only in their time. Halo CE ALONE would fail today.(with updated graphics).

I'm not saying to completely revive CE from the dead...but certain aspects of CE can be implemented into Reach.

I couldn't understand the point of your post as it was so vague. So I asked "...Are you seriously saying that you would prefer a new Halo game that could not support downloadable content?" to clarify. As soon as you said "Thats not the point", I dropped the issue, as I had clearly misunderstood your original post, and so I asked you to go into detail about your topic so I could understand your thesis with "What is it then?"

Please stop bringing this up. A misunderstanding that was corrected is not worth arguing over.

Now we are getting somewhere. Can you specify exactly what about the gameplay or story that made CE more interesting than Halo 3?

Yup thats pretty much what I said. Halo CE couldn't hold its own against modern day FPS's.

  • 11.16.2009 2:13 PM PDT

missions like silent cartographer made the game more epic, or the mission or halo, or truth and reconciliation it goes on and on.

Open expansive single player levels that take time to beat > Barrier filled linear levels you can finish in ten minutes

Are you retarded? Im not saying Halo Ce should be brought back today as of 2001 when it released...don't take it so literally.
