I know that the line of jackals in E3 2k3 was a scripted event, but will their AI eventually (because I believe they were using grunt AI for jackals) allow them to actually gather together and form a tortoise? (A barrier of shields to cover and protect soldiers from arrows and rocks, that the Romans used.) And, even though in the first Halo, the shield emplacements were translucent, oddly enough the highest ranking of elites to the lowly grunts couldn't even see you through the field. Even better, seeing the Covenant actually utilize these shields instead of just having them there to create a blindspot.

Also, I'd like to see the AI use tilting and such like in most FPS's such as Call of Duty (the enemy stays behind cover concealing most or their entire body, then occasionaly bends over to fire, leaving a minimal amount of their body vulnerable). Maybe not in the easier difficulties since this isn't a PC game and some people aren't keen sharpshooters, but maybe in Legendary and Heroic, for creating long strewn out brutal battles of supressing fire and flanking.

I thought that the wall of shields the Romans used was called a Phalanx?

Just a foggy memory, but I think I read in an issue of EGM or the like that the AI in Campaign would have the ability to execute battle tactics and strategies. Some examples I remember the article giving were supression fire, flanking, and sniping, and I don't think that formations would be much different. After, that's just another battlefield tactic.
