CTF is god. Praise his name. For the flag is his holy messiah.

My third montage!
I did search and I didn't find much related to what I'm about to propose.
Capture the flag has been a staple of the halo series from the very beginning. There have been several variations of CTF of through the franchises three game history. Two flag, One flag, "Classic" Flag, with each teams flag required to be at home to score. It's safe to say that CTF is probably halo's most popular objective gametype.
So what can bungie add to keep CTF fresh and new? Some of you into older pc shooters had a CTF variant (some might even call true CTF) that started with a single flag at a central/neutral location that each team fights for and attempts to plant in their opponents base. (I believe paintball CTF is similiar to this as well) Sound familiar? Perhaps a gametype called Assault? I can see why Bungie used a bomb instead of a flag. Blowing up your opponents base is way more fun than planting your flag in their base.
What I'm proposing is a neutral flag gametype. A single flag that spawns at a central/neutral location that each team must fight over and return to their base. Sound fun?
Lets take that a step further. How about a flag that spawns in random location after every cap? This could be applied to assault gametypes also.
Should this completely replace CTF as we know it? No, and I'm not suggesting that it should, it should complement existing flag gametypes.
It's my opinion that a flag variant like this would be very dynamic and above all else stress good team work. Anticipating where the next flag will spawn, pulling it and capping it.
It should be noted that I tend to think in terms of gametypes for BTB as it's my favorite playlist. I have doubts that what I proposed would work for smaller team sizes. It could but it would most likely work better for BTB.
I have no idea what Bungie has planned for Reach's multiplayer. Hopefully there will be many more in game options available to us.
So what do you think? Stupid idea? Good idea? Does it sound like something you would like to play?
