if you want the easy, beginner method:
*press the "print screen" key to take a shot
*press Alt+Tab to minimize
*open a paint program
*paste the image into the program
*save it

another way that is somewhat less of a hassle in the long run:
*if you know about parameters (example: -console to activate console), then you put -screenshot in
*press the "print screen" key to take a screenshot
*the image is already saved in the halo root folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo), in a folder called "screenshots.
*the images are in an unusual format, like .tga or something like that.
*you do not have to minimize halo like the other method, and you can save as many images as your hard drive can hold. However, old screenshots can be overwritten with new screenshots if you exit halo, start it again, and take new screenshots. Move the screenshots to another folder after you exit halo if you want to keep them.

The second method lets you take screenshots without being interrupted during the game to save a screenshot.
