So I'm staring at the front page of ilovebees.com, mailing waiting for the "network throttling to erode" or whatever that means. And I look over to the left, below the Bee picture, where it says:
"They dance,
they work,
they make life sweet!
Couldn't we all learn something from the bees?"
People have already made the connection between the Flood and Varroa Mites and things such as that. But something else has been bothering me. That wouldn't explain how the text got onto the backgrounds of the pages. Someone/thing would have had to put it there. Most people believe it was Keyes, based on info from the books and such, but at worst Keyes is dead and at best he's part of the Flood now. So how would he be able to put these things on the site?
Its already been hypothesised that it could be an AI that's infiltrated the site. Thinking this over more, the AI wouldn't have the memory of Keyes most likely (I have not yet read the books, so I'm not going to speculate on Dr. Hasley and Kelly). But the Flood would.
What if the Flood have evolved?
It takes a suitable biomass and intelligence to house them. Stranded on Halo 04 for so many years, they could have evolved to a point where they could infiltrate circuitry and house themselves there. Maybe it takes a much longer time for them to take control than it does organic biomass. The 'varroa mites' that have infested Aunt Margeret's bee hive could have then infested her website, and begin to spread from there. It might also explain Cortana's slight shift in personality that some describe as becoming 'rampant' after her exposer to Halo 04's archives. Not rampant, but simply infested with the Flood as the site has been.
It explains how Keyes could make these hidden messages. His consciousness still survived, trying desperately to stay 'alive' and contact others. All this might have been explained or theorized already, I haven't caught up on the latest news or discussions, so please forgive me if its been mentioned.
As to how I got all this from staring at the words on the left of the front page.... I have no clue whatsoever.
