I usually browse these forums at least once per day, and every day I see similar topics: Someone makes a thread about how good the graphics will be, or how the story should be done, how the weapons should be balanced against each other, and how the BR should totally be removed.

However, you never see anyone talking about the sound of the game. You get the occasional thread about the music, but you very rarely get a topic discussing the sound effects of the game.

In my opinion, sound is just as important as the graphics are. It's all fine and well having something that looks like this, but if the weapons sound awful, and the voice acting sucks, then it's going to really pull you away from the immersion of the game.

This is, as far as i'm concerned, one of Halos weaknesses - there are very few weapons in the Haloverse that sound like deadly weapons that can actually kill things. The Assault Rifle in Halo 3 sounds pathetic, the plasma weapons sound wimpy, and the Sniper Rifle just lacks any kind of "omph" to it.

Unfortunately i'm not much of an expert when it comes to describing sound, but it'd be great to see what everyone else seems to think on the matter. Personally, I think that the weapons need to sound a lot more lethal.

I think if theres anything that is guaranteed to be good in a halo game its the sound/music.

People arnt talking about it because people are not worried or anxious about it, its a given that it is going to be top notch.

As long as we have Marty, soundtrack will be awesome.

I personally think that they have done perfectly on that game but i also think that Bungie should keep their existing engine for graphics because its good just the way it is. Soundtrack could be better though.

The graphic engine might be good now, but it will be extremely old in 2010.

Also I heard they're making a new engine =)

I'm not criticising the music, i'm criticising the actual sound effects of the game. In my opinion, there are very few weapons in the haloverse that actually sound lethal.

Halo Wars music, Halo CE weapon sounds, Halo 3 voice acting, Halo 2 story, new and improved graphics. That would make Halo: Reach a 10 out of 10 game.

Ooooh!

Well...I never actually though about it, I was satisfied with the sound effects in all Halo games...

The voice acting, and music I'm not worried the least about, but as for weapon sound, i am with you, but if they re-did the plasma weapons, it would lose that halo familiarity, but i do think the sniper rifle, and assault rifle, could be a little louder, as for the sniper rifle, I'd personally love for there to be a silencer on it to be honest, I think all sniper rifles should automatically come silenced.
