I think they should. A lot of instrumental Joe Satriani would fit reach good(With Jupiter in Mind, Not of this Earth, ect). I also think some old Metallica would fit good(especially the Ride the Lightning and Kill'em All albums).

Who gives a damn about who is popular? Good music is good music.

Second acct: RC Zerg Rushes

No. Marty O'Donnell's music is quite good and fits perfectly. While hard rock and guitars fit multiplayer perfectly, they don't gel with the tempo and pacing of the campaign.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Haven't we learned from Halo 2 yet? Adding outside artists is never a good solution.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

O'donnel and Salvatori are one of the most important aspects of the Halo Experience.

And they ARE real artists.

Some of Joe Satriani's music could be put in halo, and I'm not saying take out Marty O'Donnell's music we could keep that but also have some other music too.

"Should bungie put in music by popular, real, artists?" You do know that Marty O'Donnell's music is awesome art, right?

I say they put in music that sounds appropriate. I don't care from where. But I suspect that we won't be left wanting if we rely solely on Bungie's sound guys. They know their stuff.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Anything that sounds good and fits the mood.

ODST pretty much proved that Marty and Michael can make any sort of music. Choirs, saxophones, guitars, pianos, violins...

No need for Britney, so leave her alone

Really guys, look up Not of this Earth by Joe Satriani on youtube or somewhere, y'all will probably think it could match reach.

All of the moments with steve vai, breaking benjamin, etc. in Halo 2 were some of the cheesiest and lamest moments out of any Halo games. -blam!- your crappy alt rock/radio rock crap that anyone may want in this game. Licensed music should stay out of Halo. If you want that so bad, go make yourself a video with saved films and put it on youtube, but keep that type of filth out of Halo. Would you want licensed music in Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or some other epic grandiose franchise? Hopefully your answer is no.

Marty's score is always great and infinitely better than anything a radio rock band or licensed music of any kind can offer the series.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

No!

Well that was an easy answer.

No. Marty tried this in Halo 2 and it didn't go over well. O'Donnell/Salvatori exclusively.

That's because it didn't sound like it matched Halo's sci-fi theme, Not of this Earth matches Halo's sci-fi theme, therefore liscensed music can be good if the right songs are put into the right part of Halo.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Who gives a damn about who is popular? Good music is good music.
Hannah Montana is popular. Let her do the intro cinematic!

Home brewed soundtracks by qualified artists make the best soundtracks.

Examples:
Halo 1
Starship Troopers
Emperor: Battle For Dune
Gears of War

No, and I like how the vote is (as of now) 20:1 in favor of No.

And as a big Metallica fan (I actually just got to see them MAdison Square Garden, woohoo!), they're music wouldn't fit with Halo. The music they have now is fine, fits perfectly, and should remain unchanged.
