Subject: Why else would Bungie make MC do a timewarp @ the end of H3???

I donno much about Halo but come on, think about it... So that he can make an appearance in a past tense setting... Maybe he won't be a big part, but I bet at some point he will be in Halo Reach, and everyone will be shocked...

Halo: Reach is a prequel. It took place before CE.

You a maka no a sense.

Who said it was a timewarp?

Look, time travel is an incredibly cliche, cheesy, and cheap story element to cause a character to be in a certain place at a certain time. They can make a beautiful game about Reach without having Master Chief blast in from the future.

Read my post smary guy...

And while I agree that Bungie can do great without MC, they're not dumb... Imagine going through Reach campaign, enjoying the crap out of it, and then BAM, here comes MC due to time travel.
This isn't a want, it's just puting the pieces together... I could care less if MC ever shows up, but I use common sense with video games.

Killionaire

well technically, MC was around reach when the battle started. he even did a space mission before he departed reach.

theres great chances they could make the halo reach campaign start at that point and even end the game from the book first strike, when chief comes back to get his squad! (dont tell me im wrong, i read the boooks)

  • 11.18.2009 11:34 AM PDT

MC was in orbit during reach. It wouldn't make sense to "bring him back" when you could just be him during the missions when he was ACTUALLY there.
Timewarps? dude, come on.
It's not a damn time warp.

  • 11.18.2009 11:38 AM PDT

Bam...Head Shot!!

I agree MC shouldn't be the leading role in this game, isn't it time for other Spartans to come to the front, but that doesn't mean there is no room for a cameo by the chief at the start or end depending on what the story they use would, dictate.

I think he should be there at some point since he was the squad leader and all, and everyone seems to want to see him in the game, just please bungie don't make him a playable character.

Seems to me that you are playing with the wrong pieces. Actually what pieces are you even talking about? Just because some companies milk the hell out of their characters, Bungie wont go against the canon to have him suddenly appear mid game.

As for the people talking about starting the game as him, why would you play a mission where you already know what happens and how? 4 games and they still haven't touched directly anything mentioned in the novels, i doubt they will do that on Reach.

  • 11.18.2009 12:17 PM PDT

I have a feeling that they'll pull an ODST on us, and have us jump from one Spartan squad to another. It is very likely that one of these jumps will bring us to the Master Chief's mission in orbit (although it's not all too action packed with the exception of the beginning).

But as for Master Chief making a time-warp to appear in Halo: reach, you sir, are a retard.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Considering that a story already exists in regards to what happened on Reach, and that portion of the story has little to do with MC until farther down the line, there is no justification for a time travel theory of any design.

If MC is featured, it will only be shortly at the beginning, or near the end (assuming the game sticks with the events as laid out in First Strike).

  • 11.18.2009 12:34 PM PDT

Where else did he travel to then? Like I said I donno much about Halo, but it seems like no one can answer what the hell happened at the end of H3... No need to call me a retard, just tell me why I am wrong.
Not everyone is as nerdy as alot of you guys, so break it down to us why it can't be a timewarp...

MC didn't time warp, he went through a slip-space rupture which (in it's simplest form) is Halo's version of warp-speed/hyper-speed. He was transport (not time-warped) to another location. Halo (in the books) has dealt with time anomolies before, but they are time dilations, not time travel. For the most part Halo is more sci than fi, meaning more science and less fantasy.

The short answer is that MC's location is unknown, and at the time there is no reason to assume that time travel had taken place, as at this point there has been no such thing in the Halo universe.

In a mysterius planet (forerruner if you ask me), also I see somewhere thet 343 industries is gonnan make Halo 4, of MC and the mysterious planet, it isn't a timewrap and for the state you has just say you do not has any common sence in games.

  • 11.18.2009 1:02 PM PDT

Da Husk.

i think Reach should have a mission or two where you get to play as Buck after all he was on Reach

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

It doesn't happen, stfu.

Halo: Reach is a prequel. Masterchief does not TIME TRAVEL.

Obvious troll is obvious. Anymore posts in this topic is troll feed.

No that is ridiculous Halo: Reach is a prequel to the Main Halo series you know Halo:CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 it will tell the events of the fall of reach if it focuses on the planet Reach itself and nothing else Master chief won't even be in it.

Lol troll? No way bro. Just a regular Joe adding his two cents. I don't read the books, I never played Halo CE, and I just threw this out there from left field. I didn't know the nerds were -blam!- about this subject, my bad...
I think it's hilarious though how some of you just can't have this conversation without getting all shook up about it, good grief chill out.

Hey smary guy, so what then? When MC travels back in time, there are going to be two MC's and two Cortana's?

Not so smary are you?

www.thecomic.forumotion.net

your two cents is worth less then the mexican paso. Master Chief in my opinion is floating towards the planet Onyx

And I find it hilarious that you didn't get your facts/info straight before adding your 'two cents'. Everyone knows there isn't time travel, yet yall keep making topics about it.

There is no time travel. Simple as that. No brains needed. No nerds, no scientists, nothing.

Aww so future chief won't pop in with the future arbiter and an army of elites and blow up the whole covenant armada? My whole reach experience will be ruined if that doesn't happen!/sarcasm

BTW Bungie even said that there isn't any time travel in the haloverse
