Where else did he travel to then? Like I said I donno much about Halo, but it seems like no one can answer what the hell happened at the end of H3... No need to call me a retard, just tell me why I am wrong.
Not everyone is as nerdy as alot of you guys, so break it down to us why it can't be a timewarp...

In a mysterius planet (forerruner if you ask me), also I see somewhere thet 343 industries is gonnan make Halo 4, of MC and the mysterious planet, it isn't a timewrap and for the state you has just say you do not has any common sence in games.

Big fail bro.

Why fail?
All is true, the planet is mysterious, because no body know about it and there is an extrange explosion in the planet. And yeah, 343 industries will take charge of that story, so MC will have nothing to be with this game. Whatever your theory is a fail, so I don't know what are you -blam!-ing.

Halo: Reach is a prequel. It took place before CE.

You a maka no a sense.

Read my post smary guy...

And while I agree that Bungie can do great without MC, they're not dumb... Imagine going through Reach campaign, enjoying the crap out of it, and then BAM, here comes MC due to time travel.
This isn't a want, it's just puting the pieces together... I could care less if MC ever shows up, but I use common sense with video games.
what does smary mean?

Bungie themselves stated there is no time traveling in the halo story line. The planet he is going towards is probably the one that the other Spartans are trapped in from one of the books or possibly the elite home world or even a new alien species planet that he'll end up fighting. It may also possibly be a planet from one of there older games that takes place after the Halo time line.

stop bashing on the guy, he said he doesn't know much about halo. Mc and cortana didn't travel back in time, the ship cutt in 2 because the back half didn't get threw the portal in time and as it closed it tore the ship in half leaving the back end drifting in space. Now seeing as they wont be to far from the ark there probably drifting somewhere just outside the galaxy the planet is probably some kind of fourunner made structure, maybe a shield world ect.
In short they didn't go back in time.
Mc and cortana can still be in halo reach without the need of time travel, mc was busy on a mission in orbit above reach at the time. Lets hope for a cameo at the least.

I think the arbiter rigged the ship to blow in two. he wanted to make it so easy.

Thanks man. And see, all of you which rebutted my two cents with your halo knowledge have helped another person understand halo more, and more so the ending of Halo 3. I was trying to get anyone all riled up, so my bad to those who got hurt about my thinking. Lol.

If that's the way the MC story ends though, that's pretty lame. So maybe we won't see him in Reach, but hopefully someday they finish this story with death, or with MC saving the world in a cliche ending...

Too often, people post on forums and just regurgitate what they've seen already and don't really explain their own views. - achronos

Well even if time did warp and the MC got transported back to reach that would created a pime taradox and MC would be existing in two places of the universe at the same time, If you've seen benders big score you know that's not a good thing. And realistically speaking there's only a few places he could have gone. It can't be a glassed planet. there is a chance It could be a human or covenant world or even a forerunner planet like certain clues point to. If you play through campaign on legendary there's a section of the terminal that hints that mendicant bias may be protecting the chief from harm and could have sent him to a shield world or something.
