Halo 2 Vista is a horrible PC game. It's ported straight from the Xbox.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Haha I'm one of 2 people who voted H2V.

Halo CE Pros: Self Explanatory

Halo 2 Pro: Better support for 360 controller. Games for Windows LIVE.

Neither of those things are pros. :(

No, there is nothing to like about that game. It's a PC games for scrubs that suck at PC games.

The campaign of H2v is somewhat fun if you have never played it before. It has the classic Halo feel even though they ruined many things about Halo in their desire to make it more scrub friendly.

The translation to online play doesn't work if you use mouse and keyboard unless you spend a lot of time getting used to the input lag issues. Frankly the game is a disaster online. Putting the mouse sensitivity to 10 to try to offset the lag while going up against kids using their Xbox controllers with built in aimbot is just stupid.

I love this vid.

Whoa, settle down. So this is going to turn into who's better than who?

Lets not bother with that. I'm not trying to say H2V was some ungodly master piece. We all know that it was doomed from the start.

I'm just tired of seeing all of this bashing going on. I play both Halo CE and H2V so its not like I'm being biased. I'm just not wasting my time with all of the bad things everyone seems to talk about.

LOL Quote fail. Trust me that really doesn't reflect anything. Where some people play to be the highest level or the be the best sniper. I played to tool around and be a jackass. Which just lead to the game being the best way to have fun. There are more than enough people on these forums who can attest to that.

Also I NEVER called YOU, (yes look at that words again NEVER,YOU) a scrub, just Halo 2 vista is a scrub game for PC gamers who suck at PC games. Like people who find TF2 and CS:S UT3 Crysis ect. games too hard since their is no autoaim.

He said PC games, and you attempted to subdue his argument by posting stats from a console game. One that is almost as noobified as the one we're talking about, no less. Thus, your argument fails just as hard as the game you're attempting to defend.

I stand by Reclaimer on this. H2V is the game all the kids play to feel pro when they're getting their asses handed to them in games that, unlike Halo 2, actually take skill to play. No doubt the same silly little kids that call people on Halo PC "pistol noobs."

And it's a valid point he's making. The game supports what's practically a built-in aimbot for controllers, while crippling keyboard and mouse controls. The absurdly large hitboxes, magnetic bullets, and other various aspects of the game that made it a noob haven on the Xbox have been successfully carried over. And with a host of bugs and a lack of concern for cheating that's definitely uncharacteristic of a good PC title. Or, at least, it would be, if it was indeed a good PC title.

Now, I'm all for playing a game that's genuinely fun without necessarily taking skill to play. A good example of that would be Modern Warfare 2. But unlike Halo 2, that game doesn't try to come off as some measure of FPS skill, whether or not that's what the designers willed.

The fact still remains that in terms of gameplay, the game falls extremely short of nearly every PC FPS. And in terms of stability, that argument can be echoed yet again. Anyone who knows what a good PC game is also knows that Halo 2 Vista isn't one. And anyone who knew what a good FPS game was years ago knew that Halo 2 wasn't one when they threw it into their Xbox. It really is that simple.

Maybe I did take that the wrong way. Sorry, but it certainly seemed as though you were pointing that my direction considering I'm the only person giving good points to H2V.

Regarding the sticky aim for controller users, this is something that was featured in Halo 2 for the Xbox (a game I enjoyed playing on the Xbox) so I was happy to see it there again. Call it "Noobish" because to me it doesn't matter.

I'm honestly surprised to see so many Xbox 360 players complaining about this feature. I dont know about you guys but I have 2 USB controllers and it only seemed natural to plug one in to play Halo 2 Vista.

Its not my fault if other users don't choose to use a controller. I'm also not going to feel bad or care that those of you who could don't.

I do play many PC games from Fallout 3 and CoD4 to Halo and Crysis. Its not like I don't know these basic facts that all of you continue to point out about Halo 2.

I play with the controller proudly. I'm not bothered at all when I dominate kb/m users. This argument is just like when people say "Elites in Swat is cheating" or "Running the Flag is Cheating". No its not. It was built into the game from the start and if you are not using it, that's your own fault.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

To be honest, i dont think halo 2 is a n00b game. It is acutially harder than halo 3, tbh. Halo 3 has unbalenced weapons and also lacks the AR.

Also, the controlls werent crippled on purpose, it only acts that way when it runs over 60 fps due to buggy mouse coding, with fps limiter or a slower GPU, the mouse is fine.

Also, halo 2 xbox DOES take skill to play. I will ask you this? have you ever played halo 2 on the Xbox? On XBL? Or have you just been watching videos of it?

Any feature which reduces the skill required to play the game is probably going to feel "natural." However, the sticky aim in Halo 2 is much stronger than that of Halo 3. And even Halo 3's is bad.

Fallout 3's single player only, CoD4 also isn't skill-based (but, unlike Halo 2, it's generally not claimed to be by either the devs or the community), Halo CE is still very sub-par to PC FPS standards, and Crysis is pretty much a benchmarking program with a mediocre single-player and an awful multiplayer component, which is why barely anyone plays it online.

I dare you to pick up TF2 or any UT game.

I haven't played H2V because I've already played Halo 2 for Xbox and knew it was a waste of money then. So given that the game is even worse on the PC, why the hell would I pick it up now?

And ODST? I haven't even mentioned that game. So why bring it up?

Posted by: TS z3NN 9
I play with the controller proudly. I'm not bothered at all when I dominate kb/m users.

So either a) you've accepted the fact that you have an upper hand not because of skill, but because of an imbalance in gameplay, or b) you're completely deluded and think you're actually good.

Exactly. A feature was built into the game that imbalances the paying field dramatically. Therefore, the game sucks.

The game WAS designed for the controller, so you should be proud and enjoy it along with the 25 other kids playing the game. It isn't your fault that they gave you an aimbot, but alternatively that doesn't mean others have to accept it. I believe in free market forces. Regarding H2v, the market spoke loudly and clearly: this game is for noobs.

I'm not asking you to pick it up but I bring up the subject because you are acting as though you actually have experience playing this game. I'm not quite sure why you'd bother considering the facts.

I could just go around repeating what everyone else has to say in here as well but I don't.

I'm not sure why you keep bothering with this whole skill argument. We've already gone over this.

If you can't beat them, join them. As I said before its not my fault none of you have a USB controller. You are arguing for something you don't know about and would probably use if you had the game or a USB controller.

Yes Halo 2 was designed for controller, I'm surprised you didn't come to this conclusion earlier. I'm really not sure any of you know what "aimbot" is and either way I haven't played H2V in months because I ran out of installs after building to many computers.

I was simply pointing out some good things about a mediocre game. It seems as though you all think I'm treating H2V as some marvelous achievement for PC gaming.

Its not. We all know that. Yet years later you all are still beating the same dead horse.

Halo 1 has many pros.

Halo 2 Vista has many fails.

- H2EK really does what it says

by that I mean, make new maps, exclusively for Multifail.
not much choice in customization,
SBSP is the "main" custom content we will ever get.

- Map downloading is the most dumbest feature of them all.

have they never heard of torrenting styled upload?
so imagine, 4 people have the map, and 2 people don't, only one person can upload, long wait... just as well, everyone who has the map should seed the map.

- No CD Key banning = Never ending of haxorz

- Imbalanced for M/K and Controller users.

- Not much and alot of difference between the Halo 2 Xbox game.
- Modding has been killed of.
- plagued with (boring) hackers.
- No ONLINE CO-OP!

- Why buy this game if Halo 3 is a better game, updated, better engine, more gametypes?

This game is disgusting, Bungie and Microsoft make me sick.
*pukes in barf bag*

If you can't beat them join them is noob mentality. I hear the same tired crap from actual aimbotters in Halo PC.
You can defend the game all that you want, but you will never convince anyone here to stop beating the dead horse. The majority of PC gamers do not want to play FPS with controllers, that is why there is an alternative called the console. Nothing wrong with consoles, but there is no good reason to cripple the mouse and keyboard on a PC title. The controller auto aim wouldn't even be that bad if there was no mouse input lag. Combine the two and you just have amateur hour.

The only thing i can add in this is that the Elites head in Swat doesnt mean jack because Swat was a game that was made by the community AFTER the game was made. so there is no reason to make a point about it.

That'd possibly be even worse than the system that's already in place.

It should be done properly and served from a specified server through HTTP/FTP, and the files ought to be compressed.
