"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

Wanna know why ODST was able to be such a big open enviroment? You guys used 2 disks.

For Reach, please use 2-3 disks, it would allow campaign to be epic, and MP/MM to be epic too. You could even have 2 different campaigns!

How's up for this?

What would the third disk be for?

1. Campaign
2. Multiplayer
3. ?

This is something I've been wanting for loads of games for a while. What's the point in cramming multiplayer AND campaign all in one disc, when you could easily work on both aspects of the game and not worry about disc space if you simply use 2 discs for the game.

Well, a few solutions,

1. Campaign
2. Campaign 2 (covie camp?)
3. mm

Or just

1. Campaign
2. MM

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Odst had an epic open environment?

Please the night time city was the size of 2 Sandtraps.

Ever try running through the whole city, and not taking shortcuts? It's massive, and then they included levels. Bigger than CoD, Halo 3/2/1, BF, or any of those games have.

I don't think your idea is possible to execute, since they are over two thirds of the development. Fun idea, though.

Well, they can still have one team finish this, and have a 2nd team work on a side/different perspective campaign?

Well they have a year to do that, and assuming the engine is complete, that's plenty of time. I'd also imagine this new engine may be a little easier to work on than the previous Halo engine.

  • 11.19.2009 8:26 AM PDT

I would be pissed if they did that.

  • 11.19.2009 8:38 AM PDT

Don't be irreplaceable; if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.

If they would release 3 disks:
Campaign
Multiplayer/Matchmaking
Forge/Scenery Editor.

Then i would so pay more then 60euro for it.

ODST's city wasn't that big. It was close to the same size as the environments in Halo 3's campaign. The only reason why it had to be on two discs was because it included all the multiplayer maps. If all those maps were included with Halo 3 it too would have been on two discs. That being said I'm all for two discs if they actually utilize all the extra space it gives. If they just do it because it is only say 100MB over what 1 disc will hold then it isn't worth it.

Why? It would be in the gamer's favour. One disc would be dedicated to campaign, the other to multiplayer and then there's more room for features on both modes.

Actually they used two discs so that the multiplayer would be compatible with Halo 3.

  • 11.19.2009 9:46 AM PDT

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

It could be great. But ODST campaign and default multiplayer could even fit 1 DVD.

I say only have around 5 Multiplayer maps on the DVD and then bring the next ones as DLC - maybe free. It's easy to add multiplayer maps but adding anything else is really difficult and noticeable.

If the original game got something like Sandbox we wouldn't even need more than 5 maps at launch.

Cold Storage is 100Mb so 13 maps probably makes about 1.3Gb. A huge space hog.

That's why he suggested 2 disks. You're being retarded and making us use more Hard drive space because you don't want to get more maps?
WTF!?

Every time you sneeze into an open Febreze portal the boner-tree drive shaft will spin into ketchup. But it doesn't stop at the number two pizza bell, not even close. It continues into the seventy eight minute long pile of green, sobbing cheese trains with no more butter, but more like the steak owed the tin cans some lovin'.

Both of ODST's discs combined only total about 6.7 GB, which would easily fit on a single DVD (8.5 GB). It probably uses two separate discs so the 360 will recognize them as two different games with their own achievements.

We could ask Bungie to make anything from 3 to 10 DVDs. For 60$. Of course I'd like more stuff but be realistic.

They will most likely only use 1 DVD.

Not really. I would have to change discs to forge then change to test the maps etc. More disc does not make a game better. I dislike redundant data.

If one disc is Campaign, and the other is multiplayer, how would you have to change discs to test your maps? You'd just be changing discs whenever you feel like coming off multiplayer modes and hopping on to Campaign for a while, which would be able to have more levels, etc if it had it's own disc.
