Subject: Survival Mode for Halo: Reach

I was playing Halo 3 a few days ago fighting the flood on High Charity when suddenly a thought came into my head what about a Survival mode for Halo: Reach where you have to fight endless waves of the Flood and ascend through each level unlocking more items and weapons this would have to be non-canon in the Halo universe of course, The flood weren't on Reach during it's Fall. The maps could be big as well so you could see a horde of the flood coming over a hill at least a mile away and you could prepare defenses such as the auto-turret and sniper emplacements. I would like to know what the community thinks of this.

i'd rather a close quarters flood fight...like CE where you're locked in that room and they swarm you....

Admin of Coup D Bungie

PM me any Coup questions you have.

I'd actually like to see an army of Covenant on a big map for Firefight. That would be awesome.

I think it would be much more fun in a firefight against the flood than the Covenant but it could be a lot of memory on the disc so it could be DLC for Halo 3:ODST.

Firefight is hit and miss. Some people like it, some love it. I just got bored of it.

Doing my Endure achievement it wasn't even a survival mode. I didn't feel threatend. I didn't feel anxious, nervous or scared for my life.

Like I said. Some people liked it. But Firefight is to Left 4 Dead as a inflatable kiddie pool is to an actual swimming pool. If Bungie makes a Reach based Firefight I hope then they don't spend too much time on it.

I could like a competitive Firefight mode. Each team takes turns being the ODSTs while they fight the other teams. Some play the Hunters and Chieftans, others the Brutes, some the Jackals and Grunts all through the use of various player specific powerups and various damage resistances, overshields, no shields and weapons.

Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

I'd like to see a return in Firefight, but it's got to have more replayability. It shouldn't just cater entirely to the competitive side of Halo's community, it should also be a fun thing to play for the laid back side also. For example, making skulls an option and actually having a set limit to reach would make the mode better. It should also include Flood, which I will add should also be optional for the player, as some people don't like fighting the Flood.

And before people start saying it's Reach, Flood aren't going to be in this one, Johnson was in Firefight for ODST, when he was supposed to be on Delta Halo with the Chief.

Firefight is non-canon. The only reference to Johnson is in the Epilogue which takes place some time after the events in ODST iirc.
