Halo ODST's biggest contribution to the series was the firefight mode. While firefight has its strengths and weaknesses I do hope that it shows up in Halo Reach. This thread is made for suggestions on how to improve upon firefight, and what you would want to see in a Halo Reach version of firefight

I will start off with some suggestions of my own
-Firefight in reach needs to have a matchmaking aspect to it.
-Expand the maximum number of players allowed.
-Allow firefight maps to be forged for custom firefight matches
-Increase the number of vehicles available to the player.
-Have variants of firefight - such as firefight heavy or possibly objective games (like free the hostages).

That's all I have to say about that.

I highly doubt it. I believe bungie created Firefight mode, because it wanted to have some multiplayer aspect to it, like most good games do.

If Reach has a Matchmaking system, or something equivalent, then there will be no need for Firefight.

I disagree. Think Gears of War and the Horde mode - Horde is one of the most played gametypes for GoW and it has a matchmaking aspect to it. True Reach will have some multiplayer to it, but firefight should not be overlooked.

that's a really stupid statement.

first, FF has been asked by the community since H2 has been released.
second, bungie said that if anything they'd only add new things, not remove.
third, firefight was a huge success to the community. everybody loved it.
fourth, it adds vareity and replay value. and that's a good thing.

It would be better if that was available as DLC in Halo 3:ODST.

Yes objectives like games in firefight would be awesome, maybe a zombie type firefight just an idea.

THIS THEY HAVE TO ADD!!!!
Most of all me including my friends all should be able to choose what weapons we start off with, like maybe i want to start with a rocket, and sniper, he wants a AR, BR i dunno... like that.

Maybe even change the # of lives? or have an option of infinite lives... but obviously put inscentives not to do that and disadvantages for doing it.

Be able to make all maps nght and day, also the maps should have weather. XD

There is so much you can do with firefight, bungies version is the best, and they can make it EVEN better!

You're on to something there. I think that the lives system would have to change if this were a matchmaking playlist. I think that individual players should get a certain number of lives per round; as opposed to the current team pool. There are going to be some that feel the need to betray people, so maybe take lives off the betrayer's ticker for friendly kills and not penalize the victim.

allow for game customization

the one thing that I did not like about Fire fight is i could not use a MA5 when it actually sounded angry.

custom fire fight options ideas
- Starting Weapons
- Skulls
- Heath and movement
- Sensors
- re-spawn ON/OFF
- Custom waves

and even a fire fight forge mode would be cool

YOU'RE STILL ALIVE?!?

Bungie said they would put FireFight in Halo: Reach if people liked it in Halo: ODST. Everybody likes it in ODST so it should end up in Reach.

"They let me pick... did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others you were strong and swift and brave, a natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck."

To make this idea more balanced, the easier it gets = a negative point reducer. ( so more lives= less points, spawns with rocket sniper= less points) But if you have less lives you get like a times 2 point modifier, same would apply if you start off with different skulls..

But for FF, I was thinking that you should be able to "call in" things or buy things with your points..

For example, for an X amount of points you get a few marines to help you, ODST's would be the next lvl up and cost more but they are a lot better. Same would apply for Spartans , you call them, there expensive but are worth it.

Other stuff could be added like for an X amount of points you call in a weapon drop, or a med pack refill, or maybe something like a pelican air raid which destroys all enemy vehicles and maybe like 50% of the phantoms.

No weird skulls, normal wave system and waves that get stronger. Also boss fights like a scarab

It's on a lot of community maps. Affinity, Think Twice, Abridged...

I meant good maps

I mainly would like the ability to turn off skulls, so that I can just shoot covenant all the time instead of worrying about things like using melee attacks so I can get my shields back. Obviously there would be a massive points penalty for this, but it would make for a more enjoyable experience.

1st horde
2nd nAZZI ZOMBIES
3d firefight..
really ? way to be original >.>

LOL

I think horde and firefight are very similar but -blam!- zombies was its own thing. Anyways I think that a forge mode for firefight would be really REALLY sweet because you could make it cooler.

Dumbass, GOW2 was not the first game to have a survival mode like this. Hell, a Bungie made game (Marathon) had a survival mode years before Horde.

i really wish you could turn the iron skull on for firefight, so you could turn it into survival mode if you wanted, instead of having to sit down for a 10 hour game.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Could Pacman be the first survival mode? People can only "finish" it because the game can't handle more levels than some people have reached

You could also say campaigns and multiplayers aren't original. Now these 3 game modes have become pretty much the standard for all genres.
