With the Reach coming at late next year I think it is expected that Matchmaking will be able to support all of the weapons. Assuming that brute technology will be present in the game.

When the game came out and I found out I couldn't start with Flame grenades and they were never going to be used in MM I was disappointed. The Flame grenades have many practical uses and I think that Bungie should work to get them into MM.

They could be treated as a power weapon and placed in only 1 or 2 spots so that you never have too much flame. Hopefully though they can get them to work well enough to be treated like the other grenades in Matchmaking. I know I would love to block a path with flames or burn someone to death without a decreased speed.

"They let me pick... did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others you were strong and swift and brave, a natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck."

I think the real question is will flame grenades be in Reach.

The fire bomb is actually my favorite weapon to come out of halo 3. But I got to admit they would be OP. however you did have a good idea about treating them like Power-weapons so i agree.

PS: you should have added a poll.

I never thought about that, I'm not quite sure whose technology they are. I was thinking that they were Human technology because it uses flames and not plasma.

According to Halowiki they are a brute technology so we may not even see them.

It would definitely be a weird twist if a grenade became a power weapon, I think it could be quite fun.

Yes, a poll might have helped. If I had thought of it before hand I would've but I don't want to make a duplicate thread to correct it.

true but doesn't the UNMC have thermite bombs. they would be similar to a fire bomb but actually far more devastating if you think about it.

Maybe, for now I'm going to assume that brutes will be present on Reach. It would sorta make sense for them to be there, since they are part of the covenant at this time. Maybe the prophets didn't trust brutes on the Halos and that's why we didn't see them in Halo: CE.

I'm hoping the brutes will appear as well. as much as i hated the entire armor fling of when the HP bar ran out Bit. i like the how the armor looked. so i would like to see the brutes just simply get energy shields or give them a functional armor system. and give them the Halo 2 rage. in halo 3 the brutes were not very intimidating even when playing as an ODST. but in Halo 2 even on easy mode a brute would push you in to a wall and punch out all your blood.

I love using fire grenades on Warthogs and Mongooses in custom games. I hope they are in MM in Reach

Its a trap!!!

I think they could be in MM if they didnt have a lasting effect. Like throwing it on the ground and someone running over it getting damaged.

I would love to see these in MM. They would make objective games a bit more interesting.

That was my first thought when I heard about them in Halo 3. You can block off a pathway for a few seconds and if anyone walks through they sacrifice part of their shields and risk being an easy target.
