"Nah. As long as the prince of darkness is okay with it. I am too. But thanks anyway, Mr. Velvet Spider."

OK, so I have had something on my mind ever since Halo: Reach was announced.
I am someone who loves story in games. I will ALWAYS play the story mode/campaign before I touch multi-player, and plot has been one of the most important aspects in video-games, I think, as a way to transcend it as more than just pixels but as a true art form. The story of The Fall of Reach was an awe-inspiring epic. It contained huge battle scenes and explosions, but at the same time it contained many deep emotions and a space to truly push the narrative.
I will admit that Halo 3's story was a let-down for me after playing through Halo 2. ODST I thought had a great, focused story but I think Bungie can take it farther. Halo: Reach is Bungie's chance to really push the awesome narrative in their game. Developers usually play narrative and gameplay as a balancing act, but I believe games like Uncharted 2 and Assasin's Creed 2 prove that narrative can compliment gameplay in truly majestic ways.
Bringing these people in your story to life, making them feel human but in such a fantastical and impossible story and world. That is what Halo: CE was to me and I think you can do it again. Technology has come to point where there are less barriers for the story in a game, and as long as time and money permit anything is possible.
In summary, I think what I'm trying to say is, I want to truly care about the characters in Reach and what they mean to me, surrounded by an engrossing story and world I could just get lost in for hours on end.
Bungie is known for blazing trails in gaming not following them. This is the time to show what is truly possible in storytelling.
