No, this isn't another "Multiplayer classes!!!" or another sort of game-super-changing idea, the idea I propose is an option, a simple option, that, if implemented, could improve the online experience for many people.
What is this you ask, first, I'll give you some things to think over, mmkay?. One: People tend to like options, options are good. Two: Boosters are a bit to common in halo 3 (And other popular online game, primarily shooters). You can tell boosters are boosters, simply by taking a 10 second look at there gamertag, they usually shown with a Very recent sign up date, little to no gamerscore, yet having a high/the highest rank in a game. it sucks getting destroyed by boosters, I know, but I think I know how to fix it for Reach.
Yup, no more boosters. Pretty much at all.
So, how will this work? Here is is how:
Since a recent Xbox 360 LIVE dashboard update, all members of Xbox LIVE Gold have been given a "seniority badge" on there account, it adds up how many years you've been a prat of the community with said number. As I mentioned before, almost every singe booster has a brand new account, or one that is under a year old. this, is the heart of my plan to end boosters, or at least "confine" them.
I propose, to the community for review, and, if it catches there attention, Bungie itself, a "Seniority" option for matchmaking, all you would need to do is hit that as your Matchmaking preference, and the game could hypothetically match you with people who have held there account as long as (or maybe longer than) yourself. So, if you have had LIVE for over a year, or say six months, even, you would not encounter the Corporal 50's, with brand new account and 10 gamerscore from a recently and many times earned MVP achievement.
As for the legitimately new players, I'm not sure, it does seem a little "doors closed" to me. Ideas?
Well, community, what do you guys think? is this a good idea that should be looked into/implemented, or should I be launched off the slingshot/out to the gallows/took to the firing squad?
