I have been reading and watching many review trying to find out why people gave the Halo games what they did and not giving them a 10* rating. If they did give a Halo game a 10* rating then I didn't read it, as I wanted to see areas that Halo: Reach could improve not how it should stay the same.
This is the list I managed to come up with. Feel free to add the parts that you thought should have been included in other Halo games.
THE LIST
- More wide open levels
- Longer campaign
- Better story
- Less flood
- More weapons
- Better graphics
- Even better music
- More diverse levels
- Better firefight
- More atmospherics
- Better boss battle
- Better weapon sounds
- More customisation
- More Battle Rifle
- Less Battle Rifle
- More Elites
- Less Brutes
- More 3 way battles
- Two different campaigns
The list will grow as I read more reviews or people submit things that was missing from past Halo games.
Now, how can Bungie improve the past Halo games? By answering all that list.
More wide open levels should be included. Halo 3 had some but they wern't as good as some Halo CE levels. The campaign should be 20 hours, and should be hard. If playing on Legendary you should get stuck and have to re-play levles just to get past them. Reach in itself is a better story than most Halo games had. Unless Bungie chose to come up with a new story with the flood in, then this game is without. Every weapon that you see enamys use, you should be able to use. Be that jackel sheilds or hunter's fule rod. Elites should be able to use two swords, just to make it more epic and cool.
Bungie are making a new engine for Reach so hopefully it will push the 360 to the limits. Halo 2's music was better than Halo 3's, use a varient of Halo 2's and a bit of Halo 3's and you will have a win. Halo 2 had some of the most diverse and different levels I will ever play. From doing battle in the low gravety area out side of the ship, to taking the fight to earth, to moving along in the small ship thing that takes you to the place where Regret is. Firefight will get an upgrade, that is almost sure, give it flood and sentinal waves and all will be great. Halo: Reach needs rain. Rain so heavy that you can hardly see. Snow and sand storms wold also be welcome and would add to the epicness of the game.
Halo 2's boss battle was great, Halo 3's wasn't. I wanted to kill Tartarus, killing Guilty Spark was just a chore. The weapons need to sound powerfull, I want to hear them ripping through the air, not the AR sound in Halo 3. Give elites armour perms, perhaps make Brutes, Hunters or even grunts playable in custom games. The BR caused all kinds of problems, some loved it and the rest hated it. Bungie need to make something that MLG can enjoy with out it ruining the game for every one else. If we dont fight Elties on Reach then this game will suck. Dont think it is that unlikely, in ODST there should have been no Brutes and tones of Elites, yet it was the other way around. Dont make the same mistake twice Bungie. I dont think any one mindes fighting Brutes, as long as it is only once or twice. Maby make it like the flood on other Halo games. This could be used to make epic 3 way battles between angry Brutes, Elites and us, bringing back the best of Halo 2.
Every one wantes two campaigns, I personaly either want a Elite one, when you are killing Brutes or a ODST one where you are defending a different part of Reach, either would be great and make it hard to say bad things about campaign.
If Bungie did all this, is there any way that they couldn't get a 10* game?
Thanks for reading, please discuss.
