I've been playing Halo since 2002. My earliest memories include hiding at the shotgun window on Damnation and killing my dad with grenades while playing co-op on Pillar of Autumn.

So first, I'm just gonna clarify, this thread is meant for SATIRICAL purposes only and is not intended to single out any individual use or group.

I'm just gonna list off some of the dumbest things I've seen on the Reach forum since it began, so feel free to post in the thread and add to the list.

1. Make the main color/mood grey and brown

2. Add perks/be like CoD

3. Make Reach an MMO or MMOPRG

4. Make Reach a 3rd person shooter

5. Make everythin TOO intense/too much gore, excessive profanity

6. Master Chief travels back in time. This is just chronologically impossible.

7. Make all the guns in Reach modern guns

I don't want to be in your group quit spamming me

i haven't seen any threads that ask for excessive gore/profanity, just ones that want reach to actually be realistic. and not have marines yelling silly things in the middle of a fight or when they get shot by plasma just saying "ow".

people haven't asked for it to be gray either just less shiny and colorful.

  • 11.20.2009 8:35 PM PDT

Switch the game into a diplomatic game where you shoot compliments and butter up the enemy before trying to get them to sign treaties and peace agreements.

My stuff is shiny and colorful. My cactus by my window is bright green and shiny. Halo actually has the art style down good. The armor on the other hand looks like candy coated plastic, but so does real body armor. Usually painted titanium prototypes end up looking like dull plastic or fiberglass. The only difference is that they are brown or green to fit the scenario. Halo 3 had some really weird jungle green for Master Chief.

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

It works in CoD.

I hope this happens actually, I would find a way to enjoy it and it would make a very nice, very open gateway for any studio that gets any future Halo game titles. Give them more room for change.

It is your close-mindedness that fails to understand this is a videogame we are talking about and even though Bungie loves their canon, the canon is and always will be entirely up to them

If halfway through the game an Older Chief crashes on Reach to aid his younger self in turning the tides? There is not a damn thing you can do about it. I could probably manage to like the scenario so long as it is 'Epic' feeling. The only thing wrong with it in my eyes is what would become of the Elites.

For all you know? The end of this game will make the Halo:Legends anime Canon.

Don't assume. There is a reason the word starts with 'Ass'.

Edit note: By the way, I do understand you satire, but for some reason I can't even see these 'I know the story is gonna be like this' type assumption without stating my little point here. Ain't sayin it at you OP, just saying it so it is said.

General of The Irish Punks

Umm. . . technically the guns are already modern, so it would just be stupid for asking something that is already there. Master Chief travels back in time is possible, doubt it is, but it still is possible.

Proof here

(1)the only way to escape death is death itself.
(2) pwn the world bungie
(3) never give in to BS, your always going good in your own way.

yeah, those people are seriously taking the ideas that spoils some other games. Like gears of war, I bet the developers were probably too focus on the overly intense gore that the multiplayer completely suck my nuts off

Well, if the Chief DOES go back in time for Reach, and it's canon, then the fact that he went back in time and change the coarse of time would ripple all throughout the Halo games, creating literally completely different scenarios for each of the games. Say the Chief in 2553 went to reach in 2552, maybe the Chief in 2552 would die as a result of the older 2552 chief coming to Reach and changing pivotal events in Reach's history.
What do you think the marines would say about the Chief he they approaches them, and he's been confirmed KIA?
It just wont work.

Fixed to reveal the truth of this statement.

Your mindset is what makes bad part of the industry (Like Peter Molynuex) so rich. You don't want good to change because you aren't willing to risk having it come out better since you fear it could be even a moments worse.

You will be a lot less disappointed with all games if you never thought that way again. It makes you end up flat tiring your own fun.

Who says either Chief would have to die?

Huge chunk of scrap metal lands.

Level has you as a Younger Chief trying to get to the mysterious wreckage first.

Enter Wreckage, Cortana watches you as you move through the ship silently, guiding you a bit.

Enter Older Chief.

Epic moment ensues as the two meet after the pod opens on its own.

-Cue fanboy squeals-

Cortana simply states 'You DID say to wake you when I needed you.'

Younger Chief has no clue what to make of older Chief, unable to be sure who it is. Older Chief immediately seems to understand and you fight your way out of the Covenant that came to investigate.

Older Chiefs hides his identity to all but a select few, the top names cover him up to make him look less suspicious.

-cue tides turning-

Older Chief gives the younger self (you) all the backup you could need.

Younger Chief is Chief. Older Chief is regarded as a nameless Spartan, shrouded in mystery and manly badassery.

If I can think that up on the go, what do you think Bungie could manage? Saying it is impossible is simply doubting Bungie. Saying it is improbable is just common sense.

What I said was just what I came up with in the order I thought of it just to prove one thing.

It isn't impossible that that type of plot twist could exist. It is just REALLY, REALLY, REALLY unlikely.

I don't even think that will happen myself, I just know better then to assume it can't.

When it comes to games, don't assume, there is a reason it starts with 'ass'.

I'm neither flaming nor trying to troll you. I posted my response to your statement.

I figure it was better then just posting 'lol'.

I'm actually enjoying the thread.

Edit: Also, with that type of thing, it is easier to respond with a more serious answer. On this website, some people truly believe that and it ain't like you or me know one another well enough to know when the other is playing around.

Meh, to be honest a lot of the Trolling seems like reject or underage 4chan runoff. Just my personal observation.

(At least on 4chan trolls can manage to get a reaction aside from pity out of me.)
