Subject: Brutes possible on reach? (and how likely it is?)

Halo without Bungie is like a cookie made without love.

i was thinking that Bungie could put Brutes and Drones and engineers on Halo Reach because it doesn't say anywhere that they weren't around on that time. they were on Halo Wars, i think there's a novel that mentions or has brutes and the ships on Halo CE were the ones under the soon to be Arbiter's command (which means no brutes because they were elite ships and: brutes + elite being the boss = Hell) the only place where i find that it says that brutes are a new addition to the covenant is the halo 2 instructions book, but it was written by UNSC so they maybe haven't seen brutes much.

and for the game-play and multiplayer side, Bungie has an excuse to keep brute weapons and vehicles.

update: maybe ther could be an elite vs brute "friendly" rivaly in the game. like elites "accidentally" had friendly fire on a brute.

Face your fear, then consume it to give yourself strength.

Yes, I want Brutes and all the other Covies in Reach, but not have Brutes as often as Elites because of their rivialry. The books never state Brutes weren't on Reach.

It would be awesome if I could shoot both Elites and Brutes in the same Halo game.

Without friendly fire, of course.

=)

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

... The real question is: How likely is it?

Yeah, but the Brutes could have been in a smaller battle during the Battle for Reach that wasn't mentioned in The Fall of Reach. Basically, the books never directly stated Brutes weren't in the battle.

LMAO. I see that. Cool I guess.

Honestly? I bet we'll see some. It would definitely allow Bungie to throw more variety in to how they try to kill you.

Brutes would almost assuredly approach differently than Elites. It just makes sense. Scattering groups of either about would mean firefights could end up starting and ending very differently on separate playthroughs.

I'll expect to see them. If they aren't? Oh well. If they ARE? Awesome.

Signatures are for squares.

Drones? Yes
Engineers? Duh.
Brutes? Pass. We've had them as the primary enemies for 2 and a half games now, and they're not fun or interesting to fight.

You don't know and can't prove the A.I will be even partially similar.

At that, you may be able to take four brutes with eight grunts.

Are you so sure that Four Brutes, Eight grunts and a quickly approaching group of Four Elites and Five Jackals would even FEEL close to the same fight?

You speculate they would be boring, you don't know yet. Wait for gameplay footage.

I wish I was still legendary.

Possible? Yes.

Likely is another story. People don't like Brutes much because they're dumb. If they were utilised as a sort of shock trooper this time round, storming buildings and emplacements, they could be cool.

That said, they can't be seen by anyone from the Book's cast.

they cant be seen UNLESS bungie makes the game different to the books

1.engineers can be in the game due to the role they play.
2.Drones were at the time only used to fix ships from the outside and didn't have a combat role.
3.the elites didn't allow the brutes the honor of fighting, they just stood as guards or had ship roles.
4. i wouldn't take halo wars as that much as a fact, though i could explain why brutes were fought seeing how drones weren't.

What people don't get is halo has a story and the story is canon. it wouldn't make sense for use to fight brutes in halo reach but not in halo 1 and only in a couple of levels in halo 2. There is a reason for that, bungie won't just put them in because people like to fight them (which im shocked for because they are far easier and less fun to fight than elites).

If bungie were to put brutes on the front lines in halo reach, it would contradict everything in the books. So before you just say random stuff and state how it "needs to be in" try to learn more about the story and understand, becuase you will appercaite them not being in if you do.
