i was thinking that Bungie could put Brutes and Drones and engineers on Halo Reach because it doesn't say anywhere that they weren't around on that time. they were on Halo Wars, i think there's a novel that mentions or has brutes and the ships on Halo CE were the ones under the soon to be Arbiter's command (which means no brutes because they were elite ships and: brutes + elite being the boss = Hell) the only place where i find that it says that brutes are a new addition to the covenant is the halo 2 instructions book, but it was written by UNSC so they maybe haven't seen brutes much.
and for the game-play and multiplayer side, Bungie has an excuse to keep brute weapons and vehicles.
update: maybe ther could be an elite vs brute "friendly" rivaly in the game. like elites "accidentally" had friendly fire on a brute.
1.engineers can be in the game due to the role they play.
2.Drones were at the time only used to fix ships from the outside and didn't have a combat role.
3.the elites didn't allow the brutes the honor of fighting, they just stood as guards or had ship roles.
4. i wouldn't take halo wars as that much as a fact, though i could explain why brutes were fought seeing how drones weren't.
What people don't get is halo has a story and the story is canon. it wouldn't make sense for use to fight brutes in halo reach but not in halo 1 and only in a couple of levels in halo 2. There is a reason for that, bungie won't just put them in because people like to fight them (which im shocked for because they are far easier and less fun to fight than elites).
If bungie were to put brutes on the front lines in halo reach, it would contradict everything in the books. So before you just say random stuff and state how it "needs to be in" try to learn more about the story and understand, becuase you will appercaite them not being in if you do.
