I thought it would be nice if Reach had a training program:

They give you all the guns and have you shoot at specific targets that pop up. They also have you shoot at the real enemies, and so on. This way you improve your aim and targeting, and you can figure out ways to kill hunters, elites, etc., without getting owned.

They could also have simulation levels, where you practice warthog driving, and getting to certain locations in a certain amount of time. At the end they count your number of flips and crashes into the wall, etc. They can put a bunch of obstacles such as ramps, grenade explosions, gaps and holes, etc. They also teach you advanced maneuvers. This way, you become better at warthog driving. They can also use this for other vehicles if they want.

Just thought it'd be fun to have a system to do some real practice, not a mini tutorial. These are essentially tests that get the newer players ready for combat and refresh seasoned players or give them new tactics.

Or you could just play campaign and learn from your mistakes.

That's why this is a new approach to it, not the old one. I'd rather take a 'driving test' than get good at driving on, say, the Halo level in Halo 3.

One of the pins on your service record is spartan training program. I thought we should finally have one, since there will be more spartans.

Vancouver BC, Canada.

I think its a cool idea - sort of like a tutorial mission.

Learning from your mistakes is part of training fool.

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

No. Play Call of Duty for your shooting gallery needs, and play Forza for your Warthog time trial wishes.

I think this would be a great way to start the game off, instead of just showing new players how to look around, teach them how to fight enamys. As long as it is just one quite long level at the begining this would be really cool.

i would really like such a level.i would add that there are levels for rookies soldiers and experts like on rookie targets are easy they pop out one at a time etc while on expert thry come out fast and u have 2 secs to hit each one.higher levels would be unlocked by earning ranks.i think that that would keep the players intrested for a while

I actually like this idea. It could be the tutorial mission (which you could skip).

Hopefully the Mass Majority of Gamers playing Halo: Reach will be Hardcore fans who have played every Halo game from Combat Evolved to Halo 3: ODST so Driving a Vehicle has all ready been perfected. I use my Life as an Example. Or you could just make a Map on forge and learn to improve your driving skills on Custom Games with your friends we all know the epic racing maps on Halo 3 don't we. Now as for the Weapon training you know the map The Pit on Halo 3 that was used as a Training Facility for UNSC soldiers and that had Pop-Up Brutes which you could shoot if Halo: Reach had a Training Program then a level similar to the design of The Pit could be used as one of the training levels.

This.

We don't need more and more attention paid to "novel but useless" additions to the game.

As I said in another threads with similar novel ideas.

I want quality, not quantity.

Stuffz....

It makes perfect scense, specially if the game takes place when you first recieve the armors, and you must try them out.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Not to mention how inane the ODST training was.
