Some people are saying there should be brutes. Should there?:

I made this for fun:

Bam. One to go. You walk corners unsure where the bastard is. Your Motion tracker flares, and suddenly...A hammer sticks around the corner. The genocidal war bent monster swings the hammer, you hear the user shouting, "Bye -blam!-!". You loose, the monstrous Jiralhanae player stands, crouches, and pisses you off. The crouch is your shame.

I don't know why, I was board, and wanted some annoyed posters. So here's your coolness:

Chieftain=Both chieftains are available, and you finally can make a pink monkey! Yah! But seriously, you can add the giant arm piece, change it's color. Imagine a pure red War Chieftain with the normal chieftains arm piece. That'd be coolieo. Unlock by getting Campaign on Legendary.

Captain/Bodyguard=Will, all captains and Body Guards are the same. So just an average cool looking brute player. Unlock by getting a Killing Frenzy in Firefight Mythic, or Multiplayer.

Honor Guard=There's two types, my own, and original. You know the berserking bastards from Halo 2. My version is a minor, with the orange tribal pieces atop of it. Colors unchangeable. Unlock by killing 25 people in an objective game type, via melee.

Minor=Just the body armor and shoulders, because head is the same as Major/ultra. Maybe new helm. Default

Major/Ultra=Same as minor, but added armor pieces because they have shoulders and cool chest.Default

No armor=Halo 2 versions with no armor. Addable helmet and shoulder. Unlock by getting all achievements. Also a Halo 3 version, no cloths or armor either.

Clothed= It's the type when you blow off armor. Different then above. Unlock by beating ten brutes without dieing, legendary.

Jumpack=The helmet is different! Jumpack on, no damage taking except for melees. Unlock by killing your first Phantom.

Stalker=Unlock by getting one hundred assassinations, in your entire career.

Rider=These are the type that ride Jaggmaws or something. seen in MMO's concept art.Unlock by killing ten choppers in one sitting.

Brute Army Commanders=You know the bearded monster.Unlock by getting ten Hammer kills in one game.

Spiked=Kinda just normal major armor, but a spike on head, two on each shoulder, one on each knee, and two on back!Unlock by getting all achievements.(For those who don't like unarmored.)

No damage taking if overly large headress. They're nine feet tall, so they are in berserk mode, but can hold weapons. Kinda like in Halo 3 when you hijack them, and they have BR. So, brutes as a multiplayer character. Nice.(Right) And Also, this would be the visor of Spartans, but is a Brutes Hair color, and Elites Skin! Limited colors for skin, and brute skin can't change. Hair color has all colors, because they have spray paint, not literally spray paint. Also, Eye color. Yeah...Eye color is limited too, because brutes have a range of red, to yellow.

It wouldn't matter if they aren't on our side! It's not canon! It's MultiplaTer(Cuz I eats u)!

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I want them in MP. With these armors.

More bacon strips!

Brutes suck (I don't bother understanding this)

  • 11.21.2009 12:20 PM PDT

No.

Multiplayer has always been loosly based on the premise of "training". That's what CTF is, it's a loose simulation of battle, an artificial goal, if you will.

That being the case, we weren't even allied with Elites, let alone brutes.

IMO, Spartan only MM.

That's just an opinion. It's not right, or wrong, just what I think.

However, there are a lot of people who like such continuity and tradition. If brutes, foam fingers, and cream pies make it into matchmaking, Bungie will have lost all integrity of purpose and will lose many future customers.

In addition to that, we don't even know if brutes will be in the game for sure. To include them in MM would take a lot of effort, effort that could draw from the more important area's of the game, like balance, story, testing, etc.

These are all of the reasons I don't want them. I'd rather have a well polished game, than a game that's so-so but chock full of silly idea's from little kids.

Yep. But this is for brutes in addition to Elites.

I like it because options are what make Halo last so long. The Brute armor looks really good, and I would like to use it.

Unreal Tournament 3 had oodles of very high poly character models, so I don't think it would take as much effort as it is made out to be.

NO. WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE UNFAIR ADVANTAGES OR DISADVANTAGES! Before halo:CE, brutes were NEVER introduced into the story lines.. only elites, grunts, jackles, or hunters. PERIOD. BRAWRGRR. and no elite in matchmaking either. They AREN'T on our side this game.

=O no elites either, that'd be so boring, you guys, start thinking outside the box a little, what do you mean *unfair advantages* like what?? if you gave them all the same health, speed, and capability then it'd be even as spartans VS spartans, I 4 one hope you'll be able to play as brutes just to give a whole new lot of possible online character models, also I'm almost 100% certain that you'll be able to play as elites online, bungies not so stupid to take off something that many of there fans enjoy..

Brutes, after the Sangheili(Elites) and San'Shyuum(Prophets) were one of the first in the Covenant.

Who cares if there not on our side, Multi is purely non-canon.

there weren't ANY elites in ODST (cept dead ones) and no adding brutes would be a terrible idea.. they will probably be in the story.. i doubt even that match making will even be the same. perhaps the same objectives but possibly not the same way of going about it. but i do hope they give the spartans at least SOME of the technologies they have in the books

If we do get Brutes just don't use 'em if you don't like 'em.
