Subject: New Hunter type?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

People seem to forget that Scarabs are actually big Hunters anyway.
I'd like a unit in between the two personally, maybe like the Locust from Halo wars, but Mgalekgolo-controlled.
uh... NO scarabs are not hunters. In halo2 when you assult the scarab their are two pilots driving the scarab inside.

Halo 2's Scarab was different, more of a 'mining' vessel than one adapted for combat. Besides, Bungie hated it because it looked like a basket so the new canon overrides the old.

In Halo 3 they're controlled by Lekgolo worms, so they are a variation of Hunters.

Perhaps there could be a certain Hunter form that carries a Melee weapon such as a ceremonial spear? Such a beast should have greater vitality to prevent one just killing it from long range with impunity. This also seems a bit far-fetched, but perhaps a Hunter could curl up into a ball and roll around on the ground in an attempt to kill you?

A Hunter assault team would be cool. One has a REALLY powerful long-range weapon, and the other has a REALLY powerful close range weapon. Like one with the fuel rod and another with a huge powerblade.

Let's sort out the AA Wraith, shall we?

Bungie clearly never wanted us to drive it and, let's face it, the thing can't destroy aircraft for the pilot's life. So here's an idea for a Hunter.

They're described as being deployed like 'equipment' rather than common infantry, so why not have them lined up for anti-air purposes. Arm a Hunter with a AA Needler-esque weapon and you've got a deadly foe which you can't drive like the AA Wraith.

Problemo solved.

but god damn how would you take out a hunter that big???[/quote]

Shoot it once in the fleshy orange bit at the back with the super pistol from Halo:CE. I hear that works.

<(0_0<) <(0_0)> (>0_0)>(>0_0<) .

I noticed that there was only a couple elites in "the duel", the rest were dinosaurs (they didnt look like elites to me).

I'm not sure, but it seemed like their mandibles only appeared at some times. Such as when *SPOILERS* the wife dies and he has no mandibles when he sees her body, then mandibles when he screams.*/SPOILERS* I think they're supposed to be retractable in this episode. Plus the females had strange heads.

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Locust are not Lekgolo formations, thus the perfect "in between" foe could possibly be an enormous Mgalekgolo formation.

I think that different ranks of hunters should wield different weapons. There should also be mounted versions of these weapons that the player can operate and rip from their bases like in Halo 3.

dark blue - assault beam
gold - assault cannon
purple - plasma turret
red - covenant version of flamethrower
more if you can think of any

On another note:

I think that a needler wraith fill this role rather than a hunter. The needles would fire upwards, similar to a mounted missle pod, so that it is not as effective against ground targets, unlike the current AA wratih. I think the fuel rod version should be shifted to an anti-vehicle role.

A Juggernaught Hunter would be a sweet enemy. I mean, they are formed by worms, so the more worms the merrier!

I think the enormous size was put in to emphasize their strength, similar to how the Spartan in "the babysitter" becomes much larger when throwing the Drop-pod. It's something that many animes do.

silly little animes XD.

Anyways, although it is probably just an anime thing to do that, a larger than normal hunter would be cool as long as there's only one as a kind of boss level. They'd probably set you up with rockets or something to take it on and it would probably have two or three high ranking elites to add to it. Although I might've gotten a little of topic there, I missed that episode, I saw the trailer for it and wasn't interested. :~(
