Yep, I agree.

  • 11.22.2009 11:54 AM PDT

Just because everybody is cussing and your enemies are flying apart in showers of limbs doesn't make the game mature. In fact, it can make it quite childish and stupid.

  • 11.22.2009 11:57 AM PDT

Winning or losing doesn't really matter much to me. I play for fun, and nothing you can say will change that. Sure, I have a low K/D, sure, I have a low rank in Halo 3, but I really don't care. It's not like it actually means anything. It's a number. And for the record, opinion and fact are two completely different things.

If you all want a more violent game, go play Prototype or something. Halo is fine as it is.

the smghas to be in reach, it just has to.

Pleas for the sake that binds humankind together and keeps motion upon our planet.... Reach must be mature. Not a cartoon, not kid friendly, not tiny battles. There should be more blood involved, swearing but not overboard it like Kill zone 2. Epic visuals like the starry night trailer. Basically make halo like the starry night trailer which made the game seem epic. Give us a game that will give you an adrenaline rush like halo 1 on legendary.

///No FlAmE1nG PloX\\\

Dude you mispelt agree...

Since so many people gave the thumbs up on this post. Lets try and keep this alive so someone ''important'' can read it. Halo community we need bungie to learn we all want a better game.

  • 11.22.2009 1:18 PM PDT

You are saying Halo:Reach should have visuals similar to the Starry Commercial for Halo 3 when Starry Night is a Pre-rendered cinematic capable of what the Xbox 360 will never be able to render.

  • 11.22.2009 1:23 PM PDT

i [Agree] with you dude...and please never use the word plox again lol.

  • 11.22.2009 2:04 PM PDT

Bungie should not be restrained by the bonds that are petulant child gamers.
WE WANT GORE, BLOOD, MORE!!! WE WANT CRUDE, KICK ASS, MOOD!
lol
cheesy chant.

Their atmosphere needs to be better. Instead of sunny days there need to be clouds, with the sky on fire. And every doused in gloom.

  • 11.22.2009 2:07 PM PDT

I prefer my enemies NOT to explode, thank you. But yes on the huge battles part.

  • 11.22.2009 2:18 PM PDT

Born to fight, trained to kill; Ready to die, but never will.

I just think when you SLICE SOMEONE OPEN with god-damn GLOWING SWORD, they shouldn't just fall over like they drank too much vodka and a roofie.

so what like decapitate them?
i agree with the huge battles but i dont wont my opponents feet to walk when his chest is far away

  • 11.22.2009 2:28 PM PDT

Yes, if the cross airs are directly over the neck. But if it's over a major joint, dismemberment would be great. Over the heart, lots of blood please. At the waist, two halves hit the floor. See what I'm getting at?
EDIT: Dead Space did an amazing job.

Excessive obscenities don't do much of anything, they just make the dialog seem really awkward and useless. They also seem to devolve into a useless, unintelligible salad of words that sound like they should mean something hardcore, but actually means nothing at all.

Example:

"Go to the check point and secure the Pelican!"

Turns into:

"-blam!-ing get to the -blam!- Pelican and secure that mother-blam!-er! I -blam!-ing sound like a -blam!- that you'd want to -blam!-ing drill a -blam!-ing hole in their -blam!-ing head at on XBox Live because the just betrayed you for the -blam!-ing sniper!"

That's not edgy, hardcore, or helps to improve that atmosphere. That's just annoying and pointless.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I would like more information about what you are actually suggesting first.

So far, lots of subjective words.

Define more what you mean, then I can weigh in.

if they make reach a game for kids then ill never buy a bungie game ever again

You make a valid point. But it makes sense if a CO is in a heated argument with his subordinate that's too scared too move from cover, in a life threatening situation, and instead of saying

"Go to the check point and secure the Pelican!"

he says

"Shut the -blam!- up and go secure the -blam!-ing pelican!"

NO GROUP INVITES!!!

It should maintain it's visual style (bright, plentiful colors), but become more severe in content. Like this.

http://i46.tinypic.com/i2vdr4.jpg

THIS! Halo's best feature graphics wise has always been its style, its rich usage of color. Modern Warfares are good graphically but they lack... i don't know, they're not striking. They look bland, plain, uninspired. GoW's the same, as are many other games. Halos have allways been colorful, while having somewhat dark theme.

Keep the amazing style as seen in other Halos, but make the content a bit more darker. I don't think swearing is good, personally i don't like it and i don't think it would fit to Halo where its sparse already. Where appropiate, swearing's fine, but overuse is bad, as many games tend to do.
Blood and gore... let's say that dismembermet probably ain't good for Halo (expect specific case, like the energy sword, but don't over do it (ever tried set_saberrealisticcombat 1 in Jedi Outcast?)) but the Covenant should be more brutal and UNSC could be shown as clearly hopeless situation, a lot of wounded (like in the pic), that sort stuff. Changing the game to be like GoW is no-no.But little things can change the tone game a lot.

Sir, as I do agree the picture is amazing if you can please reread my post it might change your thought. I said visuals(graphics), and yes many games these days always have to much black in it but if you take a look at Uncharted 2 and GOW2(last chapter) they both had a wide range of colors with amazing visuals. I don't want blood and gore just more blood and when you get sliced with a damn energy sword something has to show and armor damage when a grenade blows up close to you would be a nice feature. You know things like that.

  • 11.22.2009 7:35 PM PDT

Sent the map 11/27. Hope it all goes well.

Too much blood and gore can get a game banned in certain areas. Check Left 4 Dead 2 for that one.

Too much swearing can make them sound stupid.

I do agree that the graphics could use a little bit of detail for them.

Although I do agree we should have a darker theme, keep in mind that in Halo 3, things were pretty much in our favor the whole time, especially when the Flood came in and ate up whatever's left of Truth's Covenant.

Blood I really don't care so much about so long as the game-play is immersive and intense. halo CE probably did this the best of all the series. and i would like to to be a priority in reach.

that waas my problem with Halo 3 and it's expansion is it was simply no fun. Somehow bungie found a way to make gunning down a Ape/Rhino from space boring. even in ODST getting up close to a brute was dull. Halo 2 however where you were a spartan mind you letting a brute get close to you even on easy mode was death. In halo 3 when a brute went in to rage mode all he did was spread hid arms like he trying to fly and run at you, if he got to you no problem you could kill a raging brute with a single melee. Halo 2 in comparison a brute would pin you against a wall and PUNCH OUT ALL YOUR BLOOD!. even the Elites were difficult to deal with in CQC. most the time a single melee form an elite would kill you.

  • 11.22.2009 7:53 PM PDT

It fine as long as its not too overboard.
Swearing doesn't really need to be increased, I think the subtle swearing the they use is fine.

The explosions and weapons can sound better, and I wouldn't mind a *LITTLE* gore, but not overboard to where people are just pressurized sacks of gore waiting to explode. Maybe a leg will fly off if your hit by a rocket or you could chop an arm off with a sword.

  • 11.22.2009 8:01 PM PDT

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

^ This.

Look at Gear of War. It is mediocre to the core, despite it having a nice story.

They hide the mediocre behind 'LOL MATURE GAME FOR MATURE GAMERS' by spewing blood and profanity. It is sad really.

Halo is not a bloody game, it is not even that mature a game in some respects. To be honest, it is better the way it is.
