As most of us know the Hornet has just a few problems in Halo 3 regarding balance here is how these problems could be resolved:

First of all, the A button would allow you to go up without the need to look up in the air; however, you could not shoot while doing this (similar to the Banshee's boost).

Second, you would always be falling very slowly (like the Banshee always moving forward) and the X button would function as a decelerator, allowing the Hornet to drop even more quickly.

Lastly, a lock on would require a short amount of time for the reticle on the vehicle, most likely 3 seconds.

If the Vampire is to be in the game it should handle in a similar manor. And therefore the UNSC would have a craft similar to the Banshee (the Hawk/Sparrowhawk maybe).

the hornet does have some problems but these ideas in my mind dont fix any of them. a better idea would be to keep the hover feature and attach a speed boost feature witch you can shoot while doing so but is less accurate. also there should be a lock on feature for both missile and machine gun fie, but the machine gun lock on would be very less complex and would only show guidance as to where the enemy is.

i d like the idea of being a ble to go up and down like that also the lock delay is good.i d love it if bungie made something between normal hornet and transport one.something with missiles and turrets with power between the normal one and the transport hornet.

Warning: You may find that my, or someone else's opinion does not comply with yours. Side effects of disagreement may include (but are not limited to): flaming, irrational behavior, broken keyboards, and/or nervous sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms refrain from communicating with others until the symptoms have subsided.

I think I'd have to say that there are problems with the Hornet, it just seams overpowered to ground infantry, and then inferior to other vehicles like the Banshee, these changes may almost seam to fix these so called 'problems' but more will most likely need to be done. I think this is a good start.

See, the thing is, having to do the extra bit gives a bigger gap between skilled pilots and your everyday landlubber'.

I would like to to stay how it is.

There is another way to go up without having to look up?

As far as balance goes I done see an issue. it's only on one map. and from the little I have seen it's not an issue. but that is just what I gathered from one game so I'm not sure I have enough information to argue a valid point.

but this I do know. the hornet has the same problems as the scorpion tank. it makes one person do what should take two.

for example you have no way to control altitude and shoot at the same time. there is no roll or pitch either witch ill admit is not really necessary.
