Yesterday me and some friends were playing firefight and we were having a competition to see who could get the most beat downs and I think its pathetic that the Brute A.I only have one melee attack and I've got to say that it is incredibly easy to predict.

The only reason I can think of as to why Bungie made the A.I so bad in Halo 3 ODST was to contrast how awesome they would be in Reach.

I suggest giving the A.I a different melee attack depending on where the thing they are attacking is, for example a downward strike on lower enemies or an upper cut on higher enemies or an elbow to the face on enemies behind them.

I am just wondering what everyone else thinks about this and please don't say it doesn't matter because the melee system is a very important part of Halo.

P.S. this would only be in the campaign not multi player

The melee should be something to be feared, if that means adding in more than one type of melee for each AI then I say it should be done.

You know, if there were hordes of brutes that had the same ability of spartans, no matter how stupid they are, you would be overwhelmed.
I think the marines should become as smart as brutes.
Just as likely to jump out of the way of grenades, just as likely to take cover when under fire, instead of running around like ass-tards firing three shot bursts of an AR every 10 seconds.

When I fight an enemy I want it to be a challenge, kinda like trying to fight Chuck Norris, just not that impossible. ;)
