Halo Reach FTW!!

What the F is double wielding?

  • 11.22.2009 4:18 PM PDT

Not being able to dual-wield was one of the limitations of being an ODST, not because they were tired of it.

They could go either way with Reach for all I care.

Seeing as it negatively impacts on gameplay, I would very much like for it to be gone.

Its a trap!!!

I like to have the option to do so even though its not the think i look to do every game

I also like that it gives people in machinima more to work with. And I will always support machinima in all my post. Machinima makes the halo community even more involved and interesting to many users

I want to duel wield swords like in the Five long years trailer

  • 11.22.2009 4:22 PM PDT

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

me too.

To balance it make it kill normal players the same speed as one sword

but in sword battles the guy with two sowrds would almost always win the clash battle

and if someone has full overshields the two swords would automatically kill the person and not just take away the shields and leave the person alive like the one sword would

of course the other drawback like dual weilding would be that you can't throw grenades

both triggers would do a lunge. A melee would still be default to what melee is on your control setup. So you could combo one lunge and then follow up by a quicker melee

right, seeing as you have very little "authoritay" it would be best if you explained how duel-wielding negatively impacts gameplay.

  • 11.22.2009 4:28 PM PDT

No holds bar killing!

How do you know they got tired of dual wielding? Mabye thay thought they ODSTs shouldn't dual wield.

  • 11.22.2009 4:29 PM PDT

I want it. Just make it like MW2, two full power weapons with lowered range/accuracy and no other limitations. Throwing grenades/equipment could still be used but there would be a slight delay while you temporarily holster the left hand gun.

Jokes are lost on you aren't they?

To tell you the truth, I'm too lazy to type out a 4 paragraph long answer to something that doesn't even really matter, or will be changed because of my opinion. So, take that as me not having the cajoles I don't care, I'm summing it up in one sentence. Dual wielding makes using dual weldable weapons useless when they are not being dual wielded and disrupts the weapon balance.

Now, mind telling me how you're gonna use grenades?

Never said it was. I could go into greater detail, that's what would be hard, it would be hard to still care after typing all that. Also, lrn 2 quote

Having an opinion is AOK, not knowing why you have that opinion is not an AOK thing. Making up information to support your opinion is not AOK either.

Anyways moving on, Dual Wielding 'negatively' impacts gameplay because for most/all dual wield weapons they would have to be nerfed so that they aren't super powerful when dual wielded. If they were strong when single wielded, well, then they would be 2x as strong when dual wielded, so Bungie had to nerf the dual wield weapons.

/Rant

Oh and I believe Dual wielding was taken out of ODST because Paul Bertone didn't like it.

NOTE: This account was given out to someone and is used by more than one user.

In Halo: CE you coulden't dual-weild because your suit coulden't keep track of two weapons at once, and Reach takes place before Halo: CE so the armor can only be worse/the same.
