Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Although I would have to give the Multiplayer edge to Halo 2, I still think to this day that Combat Evolved had the best campaign.

definately true.

Halo:CE = best campaign
Halo 2 = best multiplayer
Halo 3 = a mix of both, but not quite comparable

Halo 3: ODST = $30

Halo 3's campaign was lightyear's better than Halo 2's. It brought back playing as the chief the whole game, AR, and the ending sequence that made CE great. Halo 2 was good, but Halo 3 was better. Don't call Halo 3 effortless.

Halo 3 campaign was very cut and dry. It was also very short compared to halo combat evolved and halo 2. It didn't even have the rich storyline halo 2 had.

Halo 3 just seemed to end Halo 2, not the trilogy. It was a generic, short campaign that was very fun while in lasted (and still is fun to go back and play), but not nearly as memorable as any of the levels in Halo 1 or 2. No level in Halo 3 made me think "Wow, I have to play that again" like 'Assault on the Control Room' in Halo 1 and 'Metropolis' in Halo 2 did.

Halo 2 had the best all around experience for me as I never had a chance to play any decent Halo 1 multiplayer matches.

but there are also many easter eggs in halo 3, and very fine details that bungie put into the campaign as well.

To play or not to play....

Agreed. Halo 2 had that something that made it cool. They tried to get that Halo CE magic back with Halo 3 but they only partially succeeded. Halo 3 seemed rushed and a bit incomplete in many ways. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it could have been awesome.

Halo 2 definately had a certian magic that Halo 3 lost.

HALO 2 will rule 4ever. It is Halo and it is enougth. Thanks Bungie, our life will never be the same.

True!

Halo CE had probably the best campain, Halo 2 best SP and best music, and Halo 3 best MP.

Halo 3 campain was plain a dull, while i played Halo CE until Halo 2 was released I played some levels probably more than 50 times and others 4 or 5 (Library :P), and the same goes for Halo 2, I only replayed Halo 3 campain co-op with a friend that doenst have a Xbox 360 and he is a fan of Halo!

Halo 3 campain is really boring, and misses Elites as covenant and Arbiter as a playable character! I really liked to know the truth by the Covenant side in Halo 2!

Halo 1 online was fun. My friends and I set up Xbox Connect (in the days before Halo 2 and XBL). Connection was detestable more than often, but every so often you could get an enjoyable 8v8 @ Blood Gulch on a full screen. So awesome...parallel to Halo 2's MP experience (minus leveling and playlists)

Agreed. That's because the first two Halo games weren't trying to live up to anything. They were just fun games in their own right. Halo 3, on the other hand, tried too hard to "recapture" the best parts of both games and didn't focus enough on doing anything new to make it stand out. As a result, it ended up being very bland and by-the-numbers.
