I don't think the question has a logical conclusion, or a locigal construction, either.

Won't really help, not if the people he is playing with are truly better than him. The only advice that will help him is PRACTICE. That's all you can do.

I'm nothing great... just better than all of my friends so I'll tell you how I get killed the most.

Being run over buy a ghost.
Taking on someone with power-up(s).
Getting double/triple teamed.
Getting shot in the back.
Being attacked just after I killed someone/somepeople.

So what would I suggest for a noob...

Keep moving. Never stand still.
Don't take on someone who is far superior unless you have an advantage, all you're doing is giving them target practice.
Know where the powerups and rocket launchers are.
Don't walk out into the open of Hang'em High, Battle Creek, Blood Gulch, etc..
Always look around... you're not a horse... you don't have to act like you have blinders on.
Practice with the pistol, Practice with the pistol, Practice with the pistol.
Strafe and weave while shooting at someone, don't simply charge them.

Point out the window and scream something random, when their attention is off the game, kick them in the nuts, unplug their controller and duct tape them to the wall. *ahem* or just grab a rocket launcher or a sniper rifle.

Here's some tips about each firearm:
* Grenades are your friend (except when its someone else's grenade). Learn "the lobbing arc" of throwing a grenade and you'll become a very skilled player. Grenades are precious because you can only get 4 of each at a time, if you learn to use them properly then you'll own all. Tagging with a Plasma Grenade is probably the most effective tatic as it ensures death to whoever you've tagged (unless they manage to knock the grenade off, which is possible but hard!). Remember: if the tagged person knows it, he may run towards you to attempt to take you with him. So watch him like a hawk! Frags should be used to weaken an enemy as its highly unlikely that you'll kill him with one. Throw one, wait for it to explode then move in for the kill

* If you're out in the open and begin to take sniper fire from one of these skilled persons, give up! The chances of you making it to cover alive is very slim. Of course the main tip is to try and stay out of sight as much as possible (unless you're a decoy in CTF), so running around out in the open is kinda out of the question, unless its necessary. On the other hand, you may want to get up high and take some people out with the Sniper Rifle. If you're a good aim with it then use it to your advantage

* The Rocket Launcher is classed by many skilled gamers as a n00b weapon, but that doesn't it is. Feel free to grab hold of one and take out some enemies. If they are so skilled, then shouldn't they be able to dodge it? :) On a serious note, the Rocket Launcher is hard to use without going a little n00bish (close up shots that no-one can dodge) but learn how to use one correctly by learning how fast a rocket travels. If you do this then you'll end up with perfect judgement for taking out enemies from a distance, especially vehicles.

* Shove a Shotgun in their face! It deals out damage faster than you can say it. You will get some kills and may win, but it is quite unlikely that you will be satisfied at the end of the match if you do this. Mainly because this is a bit of a sneaky and cheap tactic. Feel free to use it sometimes but over use really does make you look cheap.

* Pistol owns all. Its 3 shots to the head makes it lethal and many people have mastered it, maybe you should too. Practice using it wherever you can in Campaign and Multiplayer games as it will come in handy.

* Plasma Weapons work well at stunning. Plasma Rifle can slow people down quickly with its burst fire and a Charged Plasma shot will take out anyone's shield. Learn how to use these to your advantage and take note that you can rapid fire a Plasma Pistol quicker than burst fire of the Plasma Rifle. Make note that Plasma takes a long time to travel, so using it against distant enemies is not advised.

* Many gamers class the Needler as a crap weapon, but make sure you can use it effectively. Being good overall with ALL weapons greatly helps you. You may come to the scenario that you are pinned down with nothing put a Shotgun and Pistol. Should you have a go with that Needler sat to your left? Its your choice. Remember that the Needler fires rounds quickly and homes in, but remember it has a delay on the damage. Make sure that you can duck behind something after you emptied a clip because you'll need to wait for any fire to take effect. Remember that over a certain amount of Needler will make an explosion, consider this if enemies group together and no Rocket Launcher is in sight.

Easiest way to kill someone better than you: double team him :)

BTW If no-one specifies the rules before the start, you're free to use any weapon, any tactic, so long as you fight your way. Do what you will, wether it be blasting with a shotgun at close range, or punching them in the back. It doesn't matter. What matters is if you win. Though, sometimes you may need to change your tactics a little. But, overall, use 'n00b' stuff or your enemies weakness to your advantage.
