IS Halo: ODST worth buying and playing, or is it not good at all.?

I personally just don't like Halo 3. but ODST has the better half of it plus a couple new maps.

and it had a campaign mod that I actually liked and fire fight. so the way i see it I would get ODST before I get a copy of halo 3

Yes, but I would try to find it for $30-$40. Which seems like a better price.

Is there a good campaign mission? Like does it make sense?

You Shall Not Pass!!!

It depends on a few factors, but I think, for the most part it is. However, fewer people may be playing at at this time due to the releases of Left 4 Dead 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Assassin's Creed 2.

Alright, ya I play Modern Warfare 2 more than I play Halo 3. So I'm not sure if ODST is a good enough buy for me.

Do NOT send me Recruitment Letters, doing so will get you blocked faster than you can say "Huh?"

Yes. you need to have friends to play it though.

What is ODST not fun unless you have friends to play with?

If you don't already have Halo 3, then it's a good buy, but if you are like most people whom purchased this game and already owned Halo 3, you'll be getting ripped off a bit.

I have Halo 3 and ODST was still a great purchase for me.

I dont care if you already have the DLC, you as the consumer (talking about everybody here) have valued all that DLC at around 20$-30$. Why should they not continue to sell that product at that price?

Its like going to McDonalds and buying a Cheeseburger and then going up to the counter again and asking for another Cheeseburger but this time with extra pickels. Your still going to have to pay for the whole thing instead of just the pickels even though you had already paid for an whole other Cheeseburger.

It is basicly the same thing here. Get over it already.

And nobody can tell you if the game is worth it or not as that is inherently biased. Make up your own mind on what your willing to spend your money on. If you feel it might be worth it then buy it. If your not sure then rent it. If you dont want to spend the money then dont. Simple as that.

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

I would say that the ODST campaign is better than Halo 3's campaign and the Mythic Disc makes it worth buying, but no one plays it anymore so you feel kinda lonely when playing firefight...

Rent it, get Recon, kiss it goodbye. If you have COD: World At War and enjoy zombies, Firefight won't keep you excited for long. The catch skull is mildly amusing though.

I am part of a gaming group that is based off of the Elites, and Covenant Army. If you are a fan of Elites, message me. We have a group with good talent as well. We have a ranking system that works,(Do not confuse with stupid clan systems). It is used to show dedicated members.

PS: Don't even bother unless you are 13 or older.

I quit playing the game a week after release, it just had no replay value and firefight got very repetitive very quickly

Its worth the $60 IMO. The Campaign is fun since it had 4 player online CO-OP (like Halo 3). Firefight is fun, it can be repetitive at times (Stupid Catch and Black Eye skull, and lack of Matchmaking), but playing it with friends is always a blast to do. Theater is pretty much the same, but you can't record videos, but you can take Pictures in ODST and put them in your File Share. Oh, and if you do all the Vidmaster Achievements, you get Recon in Halo 3 (Good luck on that). It also comes with another Halo 3 game (Halo 3: Mythic) with all the Maps in there, and all your Game saves from your original Halo 3 copy, including achievements, but it has no campaign in there so don't expect to play the Campaign with the Mythic Disk.

Thats pretty much it for the game, and It was worth the $60 IMO.

Alright

  • 11.26.2009 1:23 PM PDT

Was it worth buying? I guess.

Was it worth full game price? FRACK NO.

This was a right click save as Halo 3 expansion pack. They renamed "shields" to "stamina" and put an ODST skin on the chief, otherwise the gameplay is identical. Hell, they couldn't even be bothered to adjust the camera height for frack's sake.

Oh, and I got all the Halo 3 maps I'd already paid for. Frack a doodle dooo.

This should have been an 1200 or 1800 point xbox live expansion, or at best a 30 dollar disk for those who don't have good connection speeds.

Total ripoff.

I think the final verdict is that me an my friends are all Halo fanboys, and within a month of getting ODST we're all back to playing Gears. That's pathetic.

You have failed me again, Bungle

  • 11.26.2009 1:31 PM PDT

It failed, the only people that really like it. Are the huge obsessedHalo players who love bungie. I mean LOVE

  • 11.26.2009 1:39 PM PDT

Depends, if you like campaign, buy it. If you don't, don't buy it. (Firefight is basically campaign.)I like campaign a lot so I bought it and it is fun for me.

wicked fun online, ok by yourself. Check some conspiracies to keep you busy if your by yourself like me. Also, my favorite mission is ONI Alpha Site because it is really cool. A lot of them are cool though.

One of the first 20 to beat Halo 3 on Mythic (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), in the later half I'm guessing
I notice time that light has reflection for, like the rainy magic of nobody else on a lovely day.

What do you expect from the Halo 3 ODST forum? Obviously the majority of people will say yes.

That being said, it's a matter of opinion. I found it to be worth it, yes.
