Hi y'all!
So you must have all played Serious Sam, especially if you still dwindle around your copy of Halo Combat Evolved. Well, you may know that it is being re-released, for the 360, in HD AND with Xbox live play. I know, the news made my head aplode as well.
If they can do it with Sam, could they not do it with Halo CE?

Now, I am not asking for a graphical update or anything, keep the game engine and all the textures, all I want is it to be a free dlc of Halo Custom Edition, if you have a copy of Combat Evolved, hell, I might even PAY for it! The reason I say custom edition is because there would probably be someway to stream all out maps from the PC edition to it, this would give a far larger community for games on the fabled Hugeass. Anyone else have similar thoughts?

well, if Croteam can manage to update their old games with new game components, I don't see why Bungie can't.

Serious Sam HD
also.
Serious Sam 3

Serious Sam 3 is supposed (but unconfirmed) to be in development by Croteam. Its engine was used in the remake Serious Sam: The First Encounter HD. It will feature the use of Serious Engine 3.
so, if Bungie were to make Halo 1 HD, it would be like this,
Halo 1 gets Halo 3's Engine.
Online Co-op + Better net coding.
graphic and texture upgrades
New gametypes.
etc...

I would pay for upgrades to good old games :')

As I said, I don't care about an engine change, or graphics.
Just an Xbox 360 edition.

Are they busy making million-selling games at the moment?

so, if Bungie were to make Halo 1 HD, it would be like this,
Halo 1 gets Halo 3's Engine.
Say goodbye to Halo: Combat Evolved. Everything about the newer engine is different. Example: Weapons don't move when shot with a rocket launcher in Halo 3.
Online Co-op + Better net coding.Re-code entire game.
graphic and texture upgrades Engine.
New gametypes.
etc...
Extra coding.

I would pay for upgrades to good old games :')Yes, but not enough would to make it economically feasible.

Halo: CE > > Halo 3 > Halo: Reach = Halo 2

...Better net coding.

Halo 1 does not even have a netcode. So 0 + 0 = ?... i'll let you figure that out. And Halo 3's netcode is fubar. Give me CoD's netcode anyday.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

The PC version had laggy netcode.

Also, Halo 1 wouldnt be halo 1 anymore if it was on halo 3 engine. Same with Halo 2. They didnt port marathon 2 to some other engine when it was on 360.

EDIT: CoD classic is on XBLA, and they didnt put it on the MW2 engine at all.

lol, serious sam...when I was little, my dad would let me sit on his lap and watch him play it on the PC. I and my brothers would call it the "Monster Game". Now my smallest brother is extremely obsessed with it...better not tell him it's on xbox 360!

they should give new engine & coding and keep the campaign 99% same as the original.

while we can enjoy benefits of better custom campaign and multiplayer maps.

Better net coding.Which is where it collapses. The developer puts a netcode in and the "fans" scream "WTF Y U CAHNGE JOHN HOWARDS PERFECT NETCODE GAME SUCK NAO".
