Hi... another noob who came into the forums looking for answers to Ilovebees here. I've been reading the threads on this whole ILoveBees.com conspiracy for a while... although I kinda gave up on that mammoth 300 pager.
OK... don't flame me if someone else has already said all this... like I said I didn't manage to read all the original thread... also I ain't taking credit for anything, as I'm sure many people, way smarter than me :) have already come up with some of this
What people seem to be overlooking is the possibility that this timer isn't actually anything to do with the 'real world'. The embedded messages from, well, whoever, seem to be giving us a bit of cryptic backstory to the game. On November 9th we're all meant to say 'oh... that's what it meant... waking up on a BEACH... it all makes sense now'. So what if the timer is an extension of this. What I mean is perhaps the timer is somehow counting down to a date in the backstory of Halo 2. Maybe August 24th 2004 is going to be mentioned somewhere in the game. Wouldn't it be cool if at some point in the single player game the master chief sees an AI sending some kind of message back in time to try and warn humanity of... erm... something nasty lol. All us fanboys would smirk in the way only fanboys can, feeling sorry for all the inferior peeps who wouldn't get the joke Bungie had let us in on j/k.
Oh btw, a mate mentioned to me last night that there's an X-Files episode called 'I love Bees' which of course has DANA Scully in... my point is if you search hard enough you're gonna find patterns and coincidences everywhere... I was born on the 7th <----- wow! Dunno if anyone has already mentioned the X-Files thing.
All that said... I know I'm gonna be here watching when that countdown hits zero
